no, troll. He means when as soon as you start drowning, there is no way to escape if you are more than 3 blocks down. This is a known bug/glitch by many users.
We are so far away from the update where they remove the knockback from the drowning animation. The PC version of the 1.3 snapshots patches this so that you can still swim up when you are drowning. i know it sucks
There's a difference. Try going to the bottom of the surface and wait till you get hit from the drown animation, now try to go up. You can't bcus of the knockback. But if you swim up just right before the last air bubble pops then you are able to swim to the top while you are drowning.
If this drowning thing weren't an issue, then I'd like to go live under the the sea, in an Squids garden, in the shade. We would be safe, below the storm, In our little hideaway beneath the waves. Resting our heads, on the sea bed, In an Squids garden near a cave.

What the hell are you talking baout? This glitch never happened on the PC version.
So. I used to play the PC version back in the day. Now I am exclusive to the X-Box version. One thing I have noticed is that once I start drowning, I cannot not reach the surface. Every time Steve gasps for air, He goes back down a block.
I don't really remember the game being like that on the PC.
There's a few glitches in the game where it doesn't register a quick gasp of air, but if that wasn't true I'd say use torches as a quick breath. You can also use doors or signs, doors including trapdoors as well.
As for the problem you seem to be having, if you are directly next to other blocks underwater, hugging those blocks, you will not swim as fast, causing you to stay stationary when trying to swim to the surface while out of breath. It's not that Steve's an idiot, it's just that he's attracted to the blocks next to him.
What are youuu talking about. Everyone else says the PC has this glitch.
PC definitely does - if you want further proof, it's in the notes for the next version.
Some people just haven't experienced this. I *think* it happens more in SMP and there are some pretty interesting conditions to it. It doesn't always happen to me on the Xbox when I think it should and it happens to me on PC when I think it shouldn't.....
So maybe it's a bit of "he's just lucky and hasn't had it happen yet" ?
Sorry.
going to be fixed in the PC on 1.3
