So I was wondering what everyone things the solution to the 1.8.2 update problem is
For those of you who aren't firmilar with the problem. Basically, its that with worlds being 1024x1024 in size getting all the new material such as biomes, strongholds, mine shafts and other things into a world that size could cause worlds to feel jammed or cause worlds to be unable to have a good portion of the new material in one world.
I haven't seen 4J answer any questions about the world size or this issues it could created so currently we have no idea what they might be thinking up to fix the issue.
So I was wondering what everyone thought. Do you think world size will be an issue when 1.8.2 rolls around? What measures could be taken to solve this issue ASIDE from making the worlds practically infinite.
Let's not make this discussion about whether or not they can make giant worlds on the xbox okay?
Seems there is another thread like this. Sorry about that, a mod can delete this if there are any out there.
I can't really say anything more than PC 1.8 Probably a little more advanced seeing as the xbox 1.6 had many features of 1.7 in it such as various bug fixes. Also, the world size is fine for me as of now. I can see it being expanded, though.
4J never said they wouldn't just that they know it's a concern for some people and that they will be looking into it. Whether they actually do or don't is up to them and I know some people are ok w/the world size as it is on Xbox right now but I am hoping they do enlarge it, not PC size mind you but bigger than we have now. I'm very happy w/Minecraft for 360 and if 4J never makes the maps any bigger I'll still be playing but it would definitely be a welcome addition

my prediction is that if the world size is not increased ALOT then the game will be ****ed
When players first heard of the limited world size before the game even was released, people said its too small. Now we look at it and it seems big enough. I doubt they will increase the size for 2 reasons, it may be hard to increase with current worlds and a size increase would mean more memory used in world saves. I would love to see an increase, but I don't see one coming.

"If it already has been done then it can be done again" or
"If its a mod its possible to be a feature"
Only way to increase world size a lot would be to get Microsoft to allow Minecraft to have larger save-game files - but that would probably upset anyone without an HDD - which would upset M$
See I'm beginning to realize that it can't just be a memory thing because that would be silly.
If it were just a memory thing then they probably would have already solved it by now by just making an option to pick how big you want your world size to be since the only limits to how much you can save are based on your hard drive space. That would easily please everyone since people with small hard drives can simply make smaller worlds.

I don't see it either. The world size is perfect, I think. I hardly ever leave a certain area once I set up shop.
