The dupe can is all ready open, just no ones spilled it over.

90% of all worlds I have been invited to this week have been dupe filled(had no idea how wide spread this was). The hosts have all lacked basic MC skills handling mobs, water, fire, farming(if any), guests(strangers) and building. Now I don't blame duping totally, I blame playing predominately peaceful. Duping just compounds the lack of experiencing the learning curve. And more surprising, all these folk are the over 20 crowd.
Now clearly from the photos, time went into building these structures, and they look okay on the outside from a distance.
But they are just shells. A lot of blocks with a lot more windows. Just look at the photos, really look. Blocks with windows. Yes time went into it. Yes it look damn cool from afar. But individually there is no substance. I didn't mean to kick a gamer while he's down, but looking at them again while typing this reveals much.
Constantly reverting back to the prior version, duping, and then updating to get back online is asking for digital trouble.
I actually used to dupe myself. Having played the other games, shocked that there was no creative mode, I saw no trouble with this and saw this argument as foolish. What does it matter if I dupe? But after making a fresh start, living off the digital landscape, I now have a far different perspective.(Plus I've already built a massive map in another game)
I still think its fine if you dupe.
Honestly, no problem with it. But when I see the flood of videos, the pictures, the "come join our world" posts, and now this "my map is dead" with a comment about duping having nothing to do with it...
That burns my blocks.
If you use a known glitch, or "used to" as it was stated, don't dismiss it as a cause.
To the OP, Kudos for not ranting about it not loading. Sounds like your moving on. I don't think its the duping that killed it, it was the reverting back to old version and then updating few times too many that did it. My suggestion is if you must dupe, do it all at once in the prior version, and when you update don't remove the patch later on to dupe. Or make a back before you remove the patch and then dupe.
I never thought I'd be on the other side of the fence. But if someone's peeing over the side, ya gotta say something. Sinful_Shadow's comment is what sparked it in me, not the OP.

This is why there needs to be a creative mode... NOW... not later. This is not his fault. It's the developers fault for making the game limited and filled with bugs that punish creative people.

there not shells.... That sandstone building was never finished. you cant just look at 1 and jump on conclusions. here. maybe these will show you...

i started a new city.spent 4 hours today, no skyscraper yet,but i have a massive flat land with nice mountains around the edges and a nice library, a gas station and a small skyscraper condo building that is hollow at the moment. i will make a new post sometime soon to post my updates on in a little bit.
that's a load of bull... i used to dupe all the time and my world NEVER got corrupted and don't say "oh your just very lucky" cause I'm not you wanna know how unlucky i am back when cod MW3 came out i bought it played it for about 3 hours and then it corrupted my hard drive so yea
yea if that hardrive that got ****ed up is inside the xbox it just boots up to an error and has the red ring (btw im using the xbox 360 slim) and i have 2 xboxs so i tried putting it in my other xbox and it still did it so yea the hard drive was basically destoryed because of call of ****ing duty!!!! i was so pissed but since then i have gotten a 320GB hard drive where as the one that got destroyed was 250 so i got more space now lol ive also sold MW3 since then as well

Personally even though I dont dupe I dont care. I think this was a pretty amazing feat. Really I think they need to give us maps with way more stuff anyway. There is way way way too much natural stone (that becomes cobblestone after you mine) and not enough of clay or diamond even after the update map. Personally my friends and I really like mining for stuff. We spend hours doing it, but there really should be more stuff and less cobblestone. It would be cool to like get maybe 500 blocks of cobblestone and even 30 blocks of diamond. Instead of 2,000 blocks of cobblestone and 3 blocks of diamond. Just saying.
Honestly, I think it lacked design in the buildings.
