Here is my bridge a friend (Real Archaic) and I built together.
It was inspired by the Hellgate Bridge in NYC (see pics of actual bridge below)
We started off using glowstones for the bridge support beams, and created the arch using iron blocks, for the diamond X shapes that cover the bridge, we covered the entire bridge with Iron Blocks then used cookie cutter method to create the shapes, then we lined the iron block diamond shape X's with netherrack and lit it up and replaced the glowstone with lava to give it that true "Hellgate" feel.
Hope ya like!
Anyway here is what we built, and some pictures to show the progression long the way.
Here is the actual Hellgate Bridge in NYC
Here is the very beginning stages of constructing the bridge.
Constructing the lower support arch
and....here is the finished bridge, after spending countless hours from afternoons till 2- sometimes 4am at night
thanks everyone for the kind replies,
I am sorry but I should have also added, cause I dont like to take false credit but yes we did dupe the materials.
Yes we do have a mine cart track and the ride at night is my favorite thing to do. We have plans next for a large project train station, our map has a few other cities we would like to make transit from our capital "SYN CITY" to. so I'll be looking for inspiration on these forums, and cant wait for the pistons to use!!
I didn't see the minecart track in any of the pictures, but I'm glad to hear that one has been added... I can't imagine you'd want to walk across it after building so much. Haha.
This is so many legits, definitely over 9000. Can't believe it hadn't been rep'd yet, enjoy your +1 sir, you have earned it. I like how you added your own flare to the design (literally). Exact 1:1 models are cool too, but nothing beats originality.
