1) I've made a little chicken farm (to get eggs of course) and was wondering, how many blocks can you go until the chickens, or any passive mob, despawn?
2) When pistons do come out, does anyone know if it'll be possible to place a piston, place a block on top of it, then place a chest on that block and connect a lever to make the chest pop up?
Yea i think animals despawn random as long as your not looking. I turn my back on my pig and he disappeared. Damn those pig ninjas and their rescue squads.......

2)You cannot move chests with pistons, at all.
2. Pistons cannot move chests.
