I wasn't aware that Mojang included a skin editor with the PC version.
If they had included it in the game, then maybe you could expect to find it in the Xbox version, but the only Skin editors I have found have been community made tools..
Are you asking 4J to steal someones work, and post it as a free DLC or update to XBLA minecraft?
Double post, sorry.
Actually Mojang added templates and the option to upload your own custom made skins, so they actually provided the resources for us to make our own skins.
Really, I do expect them to release it for free. Either don't put references from other games in, give us a skin editor OR A WAY TO PORT SKINS FROM PC, or give appropriate credit where needed.
Since I know most of you are just going to post the same argument, and completely ignore what I say....I remembered you could pirate DLC......(just leaving this here as a mental note for me)
What financial incentive is there for 4J to do that?
I would fire my staff if they asked me to spend $20K with no increase in return
I would have to have serious career-redirection interviews with staff that tried to reduce my bottom line like this. (Programmers work for love n pizza - Directors work for cold hard cash)
Adding free skins won't increase sales of the main game significantly - every one who wants the skins will already have the game
Then use an alternative solution instead of having to sell packs, a port from pc, a skin editor, etc!
So who pays Microsoft to host this free DLC?
Obviously 4j, but if lots of other companies can put up free dlc for their games so can 4j.
Also, I'm going to bed as I'm posting this, so if you reply don't expect a reply from me for at least 8 hours.
Unfortunately having a Skin Editor or importing skins from the PC is a lot of work, we would have to authorise EVERY skin and make sure it was acceptable for use - that means no skins that are IP (Intellectual Property) and also skins that aren't offensive.
We aren't forcing people to buy the skins, we are even offering x number of skins per pack free that players can use (All skins can be seen in the selector).

Kinda unrelated, but can you imagine how complex using a skin editor with the controller would be? Choosing the colour of the pixel and manoeuvring it into place with the joysticks... for every pixel... one at a time...
I remember my old Tony hawks underground 2 for the gameboy advance used a pixel editor and the D-pad and button controls were rather easy to use for me atleast, However 160msp's for 40 skins is a Really generous deal considering they don't look half bad dont see why the op is getting mad over it.

Vincent: You come here and enjoy spilling their blood…and listening to them cry out! Heather: Are you talking about the monsters? Vincent:Monsters?…They look like monsters to you!?!? Heather: *gasp* Oh no. Vincent: Don’t worry…it’s just a joke.
Pls, all of you furfags get another argument that I haven't heard 5000 times. ALSO IT'S NOT ABOUT THE PRICE, IT'S THAT THEY'RE MAKING US PAY FOR SKINS.
Can I get an opinion from someone that isn't riding 4j's studio's genitals?
Because disagreeing with you is riding 4j's genitals? Also you have heard it 5000 times because this is the way it is and you are going to have to live with it. You are trying to feel all high and mighty sitting there complaining about paid skins for a game you got a refund on... You, my friend, are ignorant and selfish.
Also you just got ninja'd by 4JSteve so there you go!
why isn't IP a problem on the PC? well if the skin editor is impossible i can deal with the skin packs, but seriously a skin editor would be so cool thanks for the reply anyway
Because they aren't responsible for what other people upload - as the uploader did it themselves.
But this would cause 4J to update it, they'd be considered making money off of it, as well as the possibility of copyright infringement.

Ah, I didn't even consider how if you had a skin editor, you would have to go through and review each skin to comply with microsoft, I just assumed that you could give us the ability to import custom skins without a hassle, like the PC version.
Thanks for the answer, nice to see something from the company and that is a different then a "den dont buy eet" or "boot dlc casts moneru and aisnt free".
Trolol this guy tried to troll my blog after I commented. Subtle troll is subtle.
Thank you for taking precious time out of your day and commenting on the forums that I did that, it, it really means a lot to me <3
I suppose a mod could lock this now, none of you helped and your posts weren't really satisfying, except Caiitlinz, who took time out of her day to inform people that I posted on her blog <3
