I keep see people saying that mods are not allowed, or at least that has sparked me to write this.
what is a mod? or Modification?
it is something that alters the original game.
it could also refer to people modding there Xbox's for larger hard drives, lag switches, rapid fire, etc etc.
What it refers to in Minecraft is something that alters the original game. Well people that is what DLC is. Take, for example, Red Dead Redemption and the night of the living dead DLC (not the real name of it, but you get the picture). This turned the world into post apocalyptic wild wild west, and according to the definition of mod, that is a mod.
I prefer to call it DLC, DownLoadable Content. This way it doesn't sound like you are looking to hack the game.
I am not saying that we will have (Mods) DLC, but it is true according to Microsoft modding the xbox or games is against the terms of agreement, but DLC provided by the game developers, 4JStudios, is allowed.
Plus there is that reset content options that is really out of place if not.
So just mull that over for a bit, and maybe, just maybe....I highly doubt it...people will stop the complaining about mods, which you should start calling DLC.

A mod is when a 3rd party makes something that changes the game. If the producers of the game add something it wouldn't be considered a mod, it would be an add-on. It would violate no rules if 4J or Mojang decided to add anything...
A: Because Microsoft doesn't make any money when you do it.
Anyway Modding is a whole variety of stuff...DLC, Lag Switches etc. So it depends what "Mods" your talking about when deciding to freak out or not I suppose. Or just be calm and collected but meh... this is the internet, what are the odds?

Modification: (noun) A change made.
Q: Why can't I Mod when Studios can?
A: Because Microsoft doesn't make any money when you do it.
