Okay, so I literally have a double chest full of 64 stacks of redstone and I have no use for it. Using it has been useless for me in the Xbox and PC version but I really don't wanna see a chest full of a valuable ore just sitting in the corner of my house.
So can people with amazing redstone skills name possible uses or player traps(just as jokes) for redstone? Can I save them for pistons? Will there be something useful for redstone in the next update? (for Xbox)
I'm very well ready to break my chest and burn it with flint and steel.
It's endless - I've seen people make trains, smart banks, instant-death guillotines, lava traps, jukeboxes that play tunes for a long duration of time, clocks that actually tell time (piston feature on that one). The update will bring us even more ideas.
You can do a ton of stuff with redstone. I've made traps, a nine button four digit combo lock, made an infinite lava source, a wheat farm though until pistons I have to manually reset it.( when wire is on it acts as a block to water, if water is placed after it's on), train station, an annoying music player under friends house, and of course delayed doors. YouTube, have fun! By the way it took me 8 stacks to make combo lock.

If you were able to make that kind of lock using that much redstone then you shouldve been able to and wouldve had the knowledge to make the water flow on/off with a lever without having to manually reset it.
Redstone is by far the most useful object once you can use pistons. All sorts of gates, bridges, automated facilities, etc become possible due to that pretty little dust.
I just left the water flows manual till pistons, less work.
I also just ran a ridiculously long line of repeaters and Redstone. Looks like the signal keeps going even if the other side(source) is not rendered. Got about 300 blocks or more away from a clock.
This is good.
Heard this was the case pc, wasn't sure about xbox.
I had always wondered what would happen to a power source if you were far away and that part of the map had not rendered.

Seatbelts are not as confining as Wheelchairs. Buckle up.
You can use it to create auto farms, TNT cannons, (when avaliable) piston doors and trapdoors, even fully functioning computers, if you have the time and knowledge.

infinite lava source? Do tell, I actually need that. All my research has shown me that, short a few glitches revolving around dropping and taking sources too quickly, no such thing exists. I would greatly appreciate hearing about this method you have. I intend to actually use lava as lighting in a house, a rather large house, that I'm building.

I know about the 15 blocks,repeaters, ect.
What I'm talking about is how long a line you can make and it still activates on the other end.

Retired StaffActually you dont need pistons.
proof
Hence the reason I said, if he was able to do what he did with the button combo, he wouldve had knowledge to do this..
So no, he doesnt "have" to.
