I have been building this floating island for quit some time and started to build it down. Wondering if it looks good? and what else should i do...Note, i do not dup, so nothing huge please!
Here's what i got so far.....
Not done, obviously. Going to bring it to the ground as it get's smaller and smaller on the bottom.
I think it's over 100x100 but not square!
IMHO it needs an airier, more ethereal looking bridge. Try running it up and then down like an arc to your island. And what floating island would be complete without rivers that flow over the edge and turn into waterfalls?

That would actually be pretty cool. I might try that myself
I disagree with the waterfall idea. "Waterfalls" just look like blocks of blue wool due to the texture of the water. You can't even tell that it's moving.
Maybe consider making fountains off the sides that go down a little, but don't just let the water run completely down to the ground. That would look ridiculous.

Ouch now I cant unsee the wool. The fountains might be nice and different though.
I like waterfalls, but not at that height! I'm going to make some coming out the middle/ bottom sense I'm leaving it hollow, it should be easy enough to do and wont look to bad.
Kinda going for a "Island chunk ripped out of the ground" look,lol Hard as hell without fly.
I up the water falls.
Also - don't keep going smaller and smaller to the point where it is a point.
I have created such.. er.. creations, and I built down 5-10 blocks - going smaller and smaller each time by 1 block; and then adding rock spikes - stone spikes, that would come down so it looks like it was yanked out of the ground.
Then I would mirror the spikes below so it looks exactly like it was pulled.. er.. yanked out of the ground. So you would have this sorta conned shaped hole in the ground - in the exact same size and shape as the one directly above it. Noting that it won't be a hole above - dangling from the floating island.

dude i would love to visit your world sometime it looks amazing (to bad my xbox live membership ran out and i dont have money to renew it sadface)
