So, I've started a new world that I named and used the world seed for: "Bukowski" - after my favorite author.
Not long ago, I saw a thread in these forums about a Slime finder, "Extensions". So I go and type in my world seed and give my X/Z coordinates. Sure enough I found a cave in the location it told me to look, But I'm having a rather tough time actually finding these Slime's. I've looked them up but can't seem to figure out if they can spawn in lit up rooms or not.
So I am here to ask, what is the best method of actually finding Slime's? and how far from bed rock must I actually be to find them? and what's the best type of lighting method to actually get these things to spawn.

Yes, slimes spawn in lit rooms, also preventing other mobs from spawning. For now slimes are in level 1-16 above bedrock. You can use glowstone and torches, but just dont place the torches on the floor, as it will take up a spawn pad. more info: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1315731-slimes-and-slime-farms-101/
Hmm something interesting, in the current pc version mobs cannot spawn on glowstone. Is this the same in 1.6.6 when was glowstone updated? I know in 1.6.6 it was changed to a solid like stone, therefore needing a pick to get dust. But havent found info whether or not mobs spawn on them.
Seriously wtf is wrong with you people. You don't even have to read to learn this stuff anymore. There are countless videos on YouTube that will spoon feed you more information than you can ever need. Yet every time someone wants to find slimes they don't take the 15 seconds out of their precious time EDUCATE themselves. Every goddamn thread that has appeared on this forum about slimes could have been avoided if you took 5 ****ING SECONDS to read the first paragraph on the minecraft wiki slime page. EDUCATE YOURSELF.

So tell me, did you educate yourself? did you not need to ask for help once in a while? I came on here to seek help from those who were willing to spare some time and actually give some information towards my original post. What is wrong with asking? surely you needed help sometime in your life and someone devoted their time to helping you out.
Stop being a baby - I stated that I've looked them up and couldn't figure it out. So I asked a question. Take your own advice and educate yourself in paying attention.
So im seeing all these slime map generators where you plug in your seed, your y, x, and z axis' and it tells you where slimes spawn. But are there any xbox friendly ones out there.

I'm happy that 4J will show the seed of the world with the 1.7.3 update, or I will have a bad time to do sticky pistons...
