I just bought the 360 version of Minecraft and was slightly disappointed that the world size was so limited. Has there been any news on whether this is a fixed world size or if there are plans to expand it later in future updates? For me part of the fun in the PC version of Minecraft was exploring the sprawling world. I understand that XBOX has it's limitations, but I really hope that a world size option will be added in a future release.
Nobody knows. Anyone who tries to say yes they will, or they have to eventually, is just trying to be optimistic. Unfortunately, optimism doesn't carry facts.
The only thing 4J has said about making worlds bigger is that they will be looking into it. That's it. that is all anyone knows.
Those who think the main draw of MC is to wander around gawking at the scenery will never be happy with the xbox version.
The rest of us will actually play the game, and the world is plenty big for that.
Infinite worlds will never happen, I would love it though if they were able to double or even triple the current world size. Esspecially for 1.8 when there are ravines, towns, mineshafts and strongholds which would be pretty cramped if the world size doesn't change.

larger world will happen when they find a way for the server and client to exists and take up less resources.
