Its a great build and serves keeping people out, but I don't see how it would stop people from griefing. Once you let them out, they can run rampant and destroy everything. Even after letting them out, you would presumably save your game then follow them around for a bit.
EDIT: I would make a large obsidian tower above the obsidian floor. Make it tall enough for visitors to see your map from far away, but not too high where they can jump or be hit off onto the other side.
We made one in my map. Just some tips put a cobblestone wall around it. Given the right circumstance one player can punch a jumping player and launch them close enough that they can get out. Also if you have any dirt, gravel or sand, in the wall against the lava it's possible for them to knock out said blocks after jumping in the lava then they can escape through the hole.
Forever Alone.
Anyhow, just set it to invite only, duh.
Well I leave my XBox on for people to build when I'm at work...what happens if they lag out when I'm not there? This is a great solution for peopl who run 24/7 sessions because then regulars can come and go as they please and random joins won't ruin your map. Of course if you pick a lousy regular and he let's griefers in that's your own fault

The tower is a bad idea because they can mine obsidian, but they dont get the block and it takes about a minute

The first part of the video I had that problem and actually had a guy escape so then I took the lava up and replaced all dirt, gravel and sand with leftover obsidian and cobblestone. Big tip for the platform, make a lake of lava then pour water over it, much easier than mining obsidian
That is awesome and not a bad idea. There are mods to make people join your games no matter if it is or isn't on invite only. This can be useful and effective in stopping them.
