I just bought this game, thought it was prettty cool, but as of right now it seems that no matter what I do I have to sit around waiting for daytime to come because zombies keep spawning near my bed.
I built a house into the side of a mountain, and put the bed in the middle of the room. I had 15+ torches all around the room and everytime I went to bed something would spawn right next to the bed and beat me up.
How do I stop this? It makes the game a little frustrating and boring.
If your flooring is dirt, sand, or anything like that, try switching it out with something like wooden planks. That may be able to help. And look around your base territory, is there any cave(s) behind your wall(s)? Light them up.
Do you have double doors? I had double doors and it kept happening until I took out one of the doors. I guess the 2nd door doesn't register as a door but as an empty space or hole so the mobs can come in and interrupt your slumber party
No double doors, But I put my house on the side of a mountain, and dug back into the mountain.
It just seemed like they spawned right beside my bed. No holes anywhere, lit up as could possibly be.
It seems to have stopped now but I'm moving my quarters to INSIDE the mountain. I'm going to start building a compound lol
See what happens when you go inside the mountain and just make sure you're lit up like Fenway Park @night cuz even the tiniest bit of dark corner can spawn a mob right on top you when you sleep. Also if you have 2floors and sleep on the 2nd floor put a block down the 2nd step from the top(works for me)or if you're on 1st floor try moving the bed again to a different spot. Hope this helps

Is there a spawner perhaps in the mountain, whether it's on the side or below you?

Is there a door or do you just have a hole in the mountain? Ooh, check for caves just under your floor too. That might be another problem.
