In this Xbox 360 edition i want to talk about the rarity of ores. I do think that Iron ore is too commonly found on the surface and underground, because even if you were to strip mine (not a preferred method) it is easy to find Iron. As for gold, though pretty common I think that it is fine because gold is almost useless, along with Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli is useless as everyone knows, and the only two things you can do is make dye, and blocks. I don't like that it is so common instead of the PC version, in which it is very hard to find. Finally, I move on to Redstone, Coal, and Diamond. Redstone to me, is super common and in this update drops more than in the PC version. To me, it is too common. For coal, I am fine with it because it is easy to find and you always need lots of it. I do think Diamond is too common, from previous experience yesterday, when I found 11 diamond and some gold in a 12 meter radius. Way too common.
This is the first time I have ever heard of someone complaining about finding the ores in Minecraft... I have now seen it all.
On Topic- From what I've seen, it's pretty much the same on the Xbox 360 Edition as it is on the PC edition. I can find Iron, Coal, Diamonds, and Redstone just as easily on the PC as I can on the Xbox. Same goes for Gold and Lapis Lazuli. I haven't seen any difference.

Also, seriously? Did you really use 2 different accounts to post the same ****ing thread? Or did you just copy and paste the other guys post into your own?http://www.minecraft...c/1330104-ores/
I accidentally posted this on another account that wasn't signed out on the same computer but I was too lazy to rewrite it so I copied and pasted

Are you making this statement based off of various maps w/ different seeds, or just one single map? Because a few of your statements are presumably correct; Redstone and Coal are the most common (I wouldn't say Redstone is useless to be honest, especially if you don't enjoy making contraptions). But start thinking differently here, Iron is generally common, but appears whenever it feels like. Diamond is a step up Gold - each rather ridiculous to find but worth it if you can find them in certain layers. Lapis Lazuli is just...it's like a Where's Waldo book.
You're claiming it's too common because you got lucky and bagged on a good deal of Diamond with another set of valuable ores a few blocks away? Quite biased if you ask me, but who's to say? And on a fair opinion...if you think mining 11 diamonds in one day is too much, then I guess we have a badass here.
But nevertheless, I believe it just depends on how you mine, what seed you're in, and what map.

true. the 11 diamonds were just in one map, but the rest of the statements are true
Even if ores are more common that they are on PC, it's balanced out by the limited world we have.
Either way, I'm content with the amount of ores we have. I'm always chewing through iron like nobody's business tunnel mining for diamonds, and I've almost reached my first full stack of diamond blocks for a building that's going to require a bunch more than just 64, so I'm glad there's still tons of space to mine through.
Redstone is laughably common though.. I have 5 double chests full of the stuff so I just toss out any redstone I have to mine through into the lava. I'm taking care to not waste all the ores though, because when we get pistons, I'm going to move redstone ores up to make a contact-lighting floor for a house.
I find that gold's a bit rare though. Then again I am only going through diamond layers and gold expands up to about twice the height, so I might be missing a lot.

Seriously?
