I don't know if the numbers are accurate for the XBox version .. but in general i think you understood it wrong. I think with hits you mean swinging the pick, the animation? That's no use.. an use is when you mine a complete block, so one use per obsidian, and one use per stone.
Your numbers still confuse me.. because that means that with 1562 uses you should be able to mine 1562/64 ~ 24 stacks of obsidian .. but you say you needed like 5 picks for that? Hmm..
Edit: Where do you have the 72 hits from? I can't find it .. anyway i think this number means nothing *shrug*
In that case, has anyone mined 1,562 blocks of anything from 1 diamond pick? I've been basically using mine just for obsidian and, at the rate it appears to be deteriorating, I won't get even close to that amount. Say, even 2 stacks at 1/4 usage adds up to a max of 512 blocks (or 1/3rd of the stated 1,562 uses, if uses = blocks).
ETA: In the Wiki, it states 76 hits needed under Obsidian.
ETA: Perhaps the 1,562 stated in the Wiki is an error - Perhaps 562 is the right number?
I still don't get it which wiki page you mean, clearly not the one i linked as it has no 76 or 72 on the whole page , just the amount of time needed and the number of uses granted (and one use means block completely mined, you won't loose durability when not finishing a block).
I just finished with my first diamond pickaxe, but i didn't count, however it lasted quite long .. something around 20 stacks is what i would also estimate (however my estimate may be prejudiced now ).
UpUpAway95, your pickaxe has only 3/4 left after two stacks of obsidian? Strange, i'll definitiely start counting uses with my next one
Quote from 2nd paragraph: "Each obsidian block takes 10 seconds to mine (Somewhere around 18 seconds on Xbox) when using a diamond pickaxe, taking 76 consecutive strikes, otherwise, it takes 4 minutes and 10 seconds to break it."
I am estimating the life bar at still about 3/4s good and I don't know precisely how many blocks of obsidian I have mined since I have lost some to lava lakes that were deeper than one block, so I could be a little off (particularly if the slide bar is not diminishing evenly) - but there is no way I'm getting to 1,562 blocks of anything with that particular pickaxe. I'll look forward to your actual count. Thanks.
