personally since I have started I have always hoped I could share resources with my other worlds. A map size increase would be nice, but I would take being able to share resources as well.
I'm gonna echo a post made some time ago and say that it would be nice to just link worlds. It would require retooling the code, definitely, but it would be less stress on the RAM to only have to load a single world to it. If we could link worlds, then you'd HAVE an infinite world and still not have to burn the console to a crisp trying to process larger, overall, maps.

good idea. to add i would say that you shud hav to build a portal to get to these other worlds. u cant just hav gateways to more interesting places its to easy. but a very good idea.

Anybody here played Skyrim(or any other elder scrolls). How about the GTA series? I'm pretty sure they can make Minecraft bigger. They want to surprize us, but yes they can deffinatly make the world bigger.
Map size really doesnt mean a whole lot, its just one aspect of the game. To me a huge map ends up being a waste of space to be honet, because; who is going to actually explore a supossedly endless map in its entirty, dont people usually just build in one large area instead of trying to build over the entire map? Ive watched videos of people playing the PC version and rarely do i see them building across the entire map, they usually just build in one large area to make a city, or whatever PC gamers do, and they usually spend hours just making large pictures, or fiddling with gadgets, and thats all i see with the PC version.
The map size on the xbox is sufficient enough especially when you get to mining, building, and crafting. you sort of get lost in all that, and the map size is irrelevent in my personal opinion, who needs it? its more of a novelty to have such a large map, just to say we have a large map, and dont really do much with the map.
The one thing i would like is the building height to be a little big farther up, that would be good.
Go read 4J's twitter feed. me and a few other people asked questions about World Size and they answered "We're looking into those possibilities" Hopefully they will but right now I'm just content enough to even have MC on the XBox. (Yes I know I have a man-crush on Minecraft)
It depends if they increase the world size, I heard they might might be expanding worlds either in 1.7.3 or 1.8, but i'm not sure.
i think they can increase the size of the map, i dont think there is a need to make it "endless" even if they increase the map size by double or if the map is 1000x1000 they could probably make it 2000 or maybe upward to 2500. But it seems like a lot of the space wouldnt be used because its so bit i personally wouldnt want to explore and amazingly big maps, it would be cool to have but i dont think they would make it as big as the PC verson. Make it its own thing, as big as they possibly can for the xbox maybe 2500 would be cool

you have a point but for large servers you defenetly need a larger area than 1024x1024. (like ObsidianCraft)

No one knows.
They said they're looking into it but it hasn't been confirmed yet.
a better question is will the game be able to function properly after the 1.8 update on such a small world.
