I'm definetly for the PC version. Not just because it's miles ahead of the xbox version, but because its so much smoother (not the case for all pc's.) Using a mouse and keyboard is so much easier for building, when I play the XBOX version I feel restricted by the controller. Things like combat are severly impaired using the controller. Using analog sticks to controller the camera is a lot more heavy and slow whereas usng the mouse allows for swift, fast and light movement. Not only that but this is just for me, but I prefer manually crafting things. But there are a few pluses to the XBOX version, it actually does feel a lot like the old minecraft (which some people don't like.) It reminds me of early beta days when Minecraft was a lot better. But overall the PC version is MUCH better
I cant give an conclusion yet, because xbox version isnt on 1.2.3 yet etc..
But i have to say that i very much like that i can chill back on my couch with an controller and play Minecraft on my 50 inch panasonic TV that makes MC look like skyrim ( )
I think all my remaining small doubts about xbox vs pc is gonna vanish when xbox version is up to date and got everything on place
Iam a patient man, so iam sitll gonna enjoy the xbox version and ignore the PC version, and will probably keep on doing it for the rest of the time.
I, for one, prefer the xbox one. Java is just a garbage thing to program a game out of. Okay, thats not fair, but the bottom line is that PC minecraft is abusively resource heavy for something as low-key in visuals as it is. I seriously have an easier time playing top end games on my laptop than I do minecraft. It just crashes all day and lags like hell. I can play any MMO I want on it, most of which I play on high settings.
So, PC minecraft can shove it. Its a great ideal, but the code is junk. Absolute junk.
I like both versions, PC is great cause it is the most recent version of course but JAVA sucks ballz. Been playing the PC mostly but will probably play both once the xbox version has caught up. I don't like the small maps however on xbox, heck... even if they were double or triple the size of the current size it would be great. Perhaps once the xbox version is updated to PC (1.2.5 or whatever it is now) they will get rid of java and port from xbox to PC.. LOL!
The Xbox 360 version will never have near infinite worlds, it has something to do with the way the Xbox 360 saves or something.
I honestly thought it was the processor that couldn't handle infinite worlds, but apparently I was wrong.
But I did hear they are trying to find a work around, and make the map a little bigger than it is now.
The crafting interface is much better on 360. The 360 version has split-screen and a fairly easy multi-player. The 360 version runs at a solid 60fps which many PCs can't match. So inferior in every way? No.
Until the PC comes up with an easier way to play Multiplayer and a better crafting system I'm going to have to lean towards the xbox version. It's just so much easier to use and you rarely ever lag.
I just can't wait until the xbox gets enchanting and potions. It will sure make PvP loads more fun than it already is.
Honestly, i like the xbox better.... It seems more functional...

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

Better crafting? No. The crafting in the PC version is lightning fast and satisfying; all you need is to know the recipes, also, last I checked, the XBOX360's framerate is hardware capped at 30 fps. Also, splitscreen is ew; I have multiple computers capable of running the game, and the HDTV requirement is totally arbitrary.

There is no arguing that the crafting interface on Xbox is faster and better. If I wanted to make 4 doors two signs and a few staircases I could do it in less than 10 seconds. You can't do that on the PC, at least not that fast. Not only that, but all of the recipes are at my finger tips, I don't have to remember EVERY recipe if I want to create something. Last you checked, you were wrong. Splitscreen is 30 frames per second, and just because you don't find it appealing doesn't mean it's not a great feature. The game is capped at 60FPS, and just because you have multiple computers capable of running the game doesn't mean that everyone does. With the Xbox, everyone playing gets the same framerate, that's not the case on the PC.
It may be faster on the scale you mentioned, but if I need a stack of torches right now, it's just E, click-click, click-click, shift-click. And I suppose "better" is all a matter of opinion, to me, the uniqueness of Minecraft's crafting system is what makes it great. Menu-select crafting is in pretty much every game ever and it's boring. I understand that the PC crafting inherets it's speed from the nature of a mouse, but so do a lot of aspects of Minecraft. Minecraft minus mouse will always fall behind for me.

And if I want a stack of torches its just X - arrow over - hit A until the end of time. Its faster. Its not up for debate. The XBOX crafting interface is better. Even if you preffered having to know the recipe and place the blocks correctly...you have to admit that making sure each stack of blocks in each node of the crafting interface has the amount you need to produce a certain amount of something takes a lot longer than just opening a window and hitting "craft" until you are done.
Also, PC minecraft is garbage. Maybe you never had these problems...but a vast number of players STILL deal with constant java crashes for no reason at all. I've had to go into my control panels and force java to use LESS memory. And it still crashes. I've tried everything. My Video capabilities aren't bad either, as I've said before I play most of my games on higher settings. Newer games, even. There is no reason for PC minecraft to be so punishingly hard to keep running on ANY PC these days. It honestly should be able to run on something bought in the early 2000's. But because its done in Java, it takes TONS more to deal with it than it would scripted in nearly any other language.
Come back to me when they decide to stop being idiots and program the game in some C language and we'll talk. Java ruins PC minecraft for me.
As somebody who never played Minecraft on the PC, I think the XBOX version is awesome so far. I'm having lots of fun with it and wasting countless hours. And knowing it will only get better with each update, that is encouraging too. Having said that I'm sure if I played the game on the PC I would be more critical but...end of day, it comes down to whether you have fun or not. Even if "most" people think the xbox version is a turd, I'm still having a lot of fun with it.
Well i have both but i love the xbox version alot better it may be small but i dont care about that as much as i do about performance cant get more then 4 fps on my comp.Though.....i guess if my comp was better i would like both equally.

The real question is, which costs less? A new computer capable of handling this dated looking game....or a new xbox? I still don't understand how badly coded PC minecraft has to be to require a top end PC to handle a game that looks like it came from the 1990's? Seriously, what they hell?
I have both as well and I prefer the crafting of the PC over the xbox. Manually crafting stuff on the PC just feels right for some reason, rather then just click "X" scolling over then clicking "A" a bunch of times. Dont get me wrong though, love both versions.
