I really love both versions for different things. I love exploring endlessly on the PC version and coming out on another side of the world to start building, but because MCXbox is so much smaller I tend to focus more on building up the land with castles, statues and little towns. I do miss having mods a bit when I play on the Xbox, but if they were all there and free it would be the exact same as the PC which is something I don't want.
I have both (2 PC accounts actually vs 1 Xbx version) and only ever play the Xbox version...solid 60 FPS, I can't play with anything else, and even some high end PCs cant handle minecraft...yuck.
And who wants to visit a website whilst youre playing a game haha...is this the dark ages??
I believe the PC version offers better manuerability with the mouse and such, as well as more things with the many updates since 1.6.6,
however, the solid fps on the xbox isn't always the case when playing on the PC.
Personal preference goes to PC, but Xbox version will be just fine.
Can I see the statistics that say people think this? I've heard only praise for it, and ALL of my friends love it. Granted, yes, its behind the PC version, but it came out quite a bit later...
The xbox has a limited (and rather small, quite honestly) world size... while the pc has an infinite world size... so even tho the xbox will likely eventually catch up to the pc version in terms of updates, it will NEVER compare to the pc and will always be substandard.
I unfortunately only realized this after I plunked down my money for the xbox version. If your world spawns without certain resources (such as cactus, or snow), you will NEVER EVER have those resources in your xbox world. In pc, you could just go on an extended expedition to find the resources somewhere in the infinite world.
xbox will always be sorta like "minecraft lite" compared to pc, and now people like me must debate buying two versions of (what is supposed to be) the same game, leaving one of them to collect dust and wasting twenty bucks. So far I've resisted going to pc and maybe that's just as well. The xbox version has taken up way too much of my time this past month. If I had all the stuff the pc offers like pistons and creative mode and enderman and castles and villages and infinite worlds and who knows what else... yikes.
The PC version might have more to offer, and it does seem like more people who've played both enjoy the PC version more, but I wouldn't say most people think the Xbox version is "****"
I mean, did anybody think beta 1.6.6 was "****" when it was out? No? Then besides a smaller world, you can't really say the same for the Xbox version. It might not be as advanced as the PC version but it certainly isn't bad.
Oh, and everyone making a pros/cons list forgot to mention how the Xbox version still has the good ol' seeds, like the 404 challenge
I'm indifferent honestly. I love both of them. When the Xbox version gets update a little bit more, I'll probably lean more towards playing it because it's just easier to play with friends that way.
Once it gets upgraded a few more times I think people wont be complaining as much. For me I would much rather play something on my xbox than computer. I will say though spending 5 plus hrs with my friend trying to level a mountain is ridiculous. They need to make it easier to destroy things. I dont know if the computer version does or not.
I've only played the free beta on PC and i did love it and when the xbox edition came out I was ecstatic and i do love the xbox version but the small world is killing me although 4J did say on their Twitter Feed that they are looking into extending the xbox edition's world so hopefully they do but yeah obviously the pc version is the better choice cuz it's got all the updates already and xbox edition is still in it's infancy. Give it some time
Im quite happy with the xbox version. Although my attitude may change once I fill up my world. If they manage to increase the map size a good bit, Ill be ecstatic.
well they are both good for reasons... computer, has much more to use, giving it more reasons to play over and over. The xbox, atm is more of just your bored, want to play some classic survival or build some cool stuff in peacefull. Ive already seen some amazing creatons pop up in the xbox, and im sure we ill see many more.
After buying it on XBOX and playing for a few weeks I broke down and bought it for my PC.
I was happy to have so many more options and contraptions to play with as well as the infinite world but after just one day I asked for my money back on the PC version. I have a nice computer and it still dropped the framerate. Also, being the console gamer that I am I didn't like using the mouse and keyboard to control my player. I felt the Xbox controller is much more responsive when moving and jumping the character albeit the looking and clicking is better with a mouse so there is a draw.
In the end I feel like the Xbox is still better it's just too bad we don't have infinite worlds. A
I've noticed some people say that the Xbox version is suppose to be the same as the PC version and both Mojang and 4J have been on record saying it is NOT. That's why it's named "Xbox Edition" or the mobile as "Pocket Edition". If it were suppose to be the same it wouldn't be called anything but "Minecraft". With that said, I think 4J is doing a stand up job taking a game from one coding language and putting it in another format of code to work on the consoles. The only reason it is behind is because 1.6.6 was the latest stable version the game was at when they started to work on the Xbox edition. Most people have no idea how many lines of code and work has gone into recreating this game then trying to debug because it's gonna have errors it's just human. We are getting what we want in due time even though it's not gonna be exactly the same, it's gonna be close and that is a feat.
well of course, most will say PC is better because PC is actually "finished"
xbox still has much more work to be done on it.
I have both but prefer xbox for playing with friends online and splitscreen, as well as no screen lag\bad FPS.
i sometimes wish i got the pc version, but since i already got the xbox version, i think if i bought the pc, i would spoil my experience and never play the xbox version again. xbox will be great with the adventure update i think. after that, the only thing pc has against xbox is mods.
And who wants to visit a website whilst youre playing a game haha...is this the dark ages??
