Im kind of think ahead but are any of you guys gonna be sad when 1.8 is gonna come out because for me i got EVERYTHING! Even my own slime farm. Ill be sad if that goes too waste and im gonna have too start a new world. I hope they let you like chain portals too a new world or something.
You don't have to start a new world. You can continue to play in your old world. You only need to start a new one if you want all of the new terrain features from 1.8.2. Even then, if you have unexplored parts of your world, the new things will generate there as well.
I will continue playing on my old world and make a new world for the update. Not that big of a deal to me.
I agree. Exploring is my favorite aspect of minecraft. I even make new worlds just to explore them and delete them again once im done without even building anything on them, lol.
Larger world size in the future patches would be nice, but i dont feel its a must. The size of the map fits the player amount restrictions. Even with 8 players on the map, there is still room for everyone and if not for any reason, simply add a new world to your list
Just a shame they can't implement a character system like Terraria, where you can take what you have on you into a new world eg. grab all your diamonds and create new world for clay, biomes etc
I'm going to be somewhat sad but I have only built a couple things on this world so i don't get burnt out on minecraft. I'm ready to start a fresh world with all the new updates coming out.
i was apprehensive about starting a new world after last update but i did it and my new world is much more efficient than my old one and my next one will be even better
So what I'm getting from this is:
1. people seem to care more about grammar than the topic.
2. we need to spam 4j's twitter telling them we want a feature to link worlds together.
seriously this sounds like a great idea, it solves the world size problems and update problems perfectly. As well since it will probably come with the 1.8.2 update if they do it, it will make it easy to move creative mode creations into survival mode, just make what you want in the world and the intergrate it with the survival world.
Would be suprised if they dont make the world larger, so ppl can stick to their old world. Just something i expect to happen, will be dissapointed if it isnt expanded.

I think this sounds like a great idea, but it isn't what Minecraft is about at all. I like having to start fresh and punch trees and make a dirt house before the sun sets. I feel like bringing my equipment over to other worlds would defeat the purpose of having one map. Not to mention adding a feature like that would call for some heavy duty reprogramming. Each world is basically its own save file and they would have to change that around. I'm not sure 4J would take the time to do that.
You never have to stop playing your worlds though. I am just thankful that when a new update comes along my worlds won't disappear.
