You have to duplicate. I duplicated my TNT but that is the only thing that I have duplicated, and I must say you dig straight down to bedrock and then come back up by stacking TNT and then light it for a massive hole
That Kevblog thing is fantastic! I think I can actually build it too. Thanks for the help and all of the advice to everyone. I was thinking about the dup glitch, but I bet money my friend would rather do this with me.
First thanks to all who came up with ideas. I was able to get a whole lot of gunpowder in a short time with the Kevblog killing machine. I do have a few questions if anyone wouldnt mind.
#1 Is there any material that spiders cant/wont climb.
#2 How far away is too far away for things to spawn. I heard 24 blocks to get them to spawn but what is the max distance?
# Finally does anyone know about how long items that are dropped by enemies stay avaiable to grab? I have heard people say to just leave the game on for a while and you can get lots of stuff, but usually if I leave it on for a while it seems like there isnt much. Usually if I check back in 5 mins there is a lot of stuff as opposed to say 10min or something.

Outside of 24 blocks from the spawning area, within 80 (I think it's 80 in this version?) blocks if the trap requires the mobs to move, within 128 blocks of the spawning pads.

The items are supposed to stay in the world for 5 minutes, but there's something weird about the Xbox version. I think items start disappearing after a certain amount of items are on screen. So just stand under the collection point to be safe.
Cool. I appreciate the information and the suggestion about the cactus death trap. I think I want to make a cactus addition to my kill machine and switch out some cobblestone for glass.
Yeah they do still climb on glass. The good thing is I have a catcus under the drop so they seem to be dying a little bit better. I still havent perfected my killing machine, but its pretty good anyway. Now that i have a lot of arrows I want to create a dispenser killing machine. Its a little difficult since it seems like you need take a class in using redstone.
Kiershar made an efficient mob trap awhile back which pumps out large amounts of mobs. Check it out:
You could probably use the other materials you get from other mobs as well
This. I have a trap very similar to this in my world, and as a result am set on bones, arrows, gunpowder, and feathers for quite some time to come. Works great if you light up all of the caves in the area.

Glass and other transparent blocks. Glass is the obvious choice - easy to get.

Thank you for this. I am in your debt!
