I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I am trying to get a lot of gun powder to make TNT to blow up mountains. I have fought creepers at night but usually only get about 22 things of gun powder and end up usually losing all of my iron armor in the process due to other enemies shooting or attacking me. I have tried making a spawn drop but the pig spawner always seems to either be Skeletons or Zombies. I have a ton of bones now, but I really just want a whole lot of gun powder. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks!
You're in luck if your world has an area with an expansive and deep ocean. It's really easy to build a gravity trap out in the water and then wait out even further from land than your trap is if so, because besides any caves below the water, your trap becomes the only valid place for mobs to spawn, they won't spawn in water and can't spawn too far away from you, so you'll get a better output.
I'm playing on the Quesadila seed right now and there's a spot like that in the south-east corner, I'm actually letting the trap work right now while typing, It's working really efficiently. Lots of loot, I made 1.25 stacks of TNT after 10 minutes.
Thank you both for the help and advice. I have a trap that works for skeletons but wasnt sure if the creepers spawn out of the burning pig spawner. I guess I dont really need the pig spawner as long as its a decent trap. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I am going to test some things in the morning. Thanks!
Damn dude. You have a skeleton spawner on lock down. Never ending arrows and trees for wood. Tnt? Just make a three level gravity mob grinder. Once you have enough gunpowder to fill your inventory slots with single gun powders just walk away, go to sleep. When you come back your inventory will be full. just make sure that your collection point is secure.

Once you have enough gunpowder to fill your inventory slots with single gun powders just walk away, go to sleep. When you come back your inventory will be full. just make sure that your collection point is secure.
clear system cache and do the duplication glitch with splitscreen..
you can do the dupe glitch in single player by placing TNT 2 blocks away from your dispenser then hit it and go into the inventory of the dispenser and when it blows up you'll have a similar effect
I'm collecting string right now as I type, and surfing the net. 20 mins from now I'll finish the ceiling of my house, and add to my ever expanding tnt reserve.
Yeah walk away means go get some sleep while collecting. If your fill all your inventory slots with just one item, that's all you'll collect from an average mob grinder. Leaves the feathers, bone, ect.

You could probably use the other materials you get from other mobs as well

Try that with a gravity grinder and tell me how it works out for you.
