Okay, I recently made a new 32x32x3 mob trap and when I tested it out, the 2x2 hole where all the monsters drop seems to get clogged up but it doesn't make sense. When i stand back and watch if the monsters drop they seem to fall down to where I'm at but they disappear out of nowhere. Literally disappearing in front of my face. appreciate any help
Hmm that's interesting. Maybe the spiders are clogging up the system. For the disappearing mobs, maybe they are not really falling but the game thinks they are. There are most likely so many that the game thinks they are falling when they are really not. That's just my guess.
i could stop the spiders from spawning, no problem. as for the disappearing mobs. Yes. there are so many that i dont even know if they are really dropping, but its irritating to watch lol.
There lies the problem.
You are too far away from the mobs so they despawn as a result.they despawn right as they start falling because they are too far away.
Just make a room to stand in a lot closer to the mobs and when they fall after a while (Before a 5 minute time span has ended) and go down and collect the drops. Its quite effective.

Thats kind of odd when mobs wont even spawn if you're within a 25 block radius, saying that 27 is too far away would on leave them 2 blocks to spawn which is just wrong....

Is it possible to be too close? Cause I made a house connected directly to the bottom of the spawner for my trap, and it seems like mobs never spawn when I'm in it.

Alright guys, thanks for the suggestions. It seems that distance was never the issue. I'm pretty sure 27 blocks is just right. Instead I made the 2x2 hole into a 4x4, which made all the monsters drop and prevented spiders from clogging the drop hole. Thanks again everyone
I'm about 27 blocks below the mobs.
