First off i just want to say that I am not trying to tell you guys how to do your jobs. You took a great PC Game and put it on a console and broke xbox sales records. You guys know what your doing, without a doubt. As it stands now there are some things that not only myself but other people have noticed are wrong with the game. This is not where I go on complaining about bugs that will be fixed in a later update to minecraft but problems I have with the xbox only components.
First off i cant stand the fact that the server host has to be on in order for you to play on his world. Im no expert in programming nor do I own a company that rakes in millions of dollars a year but there has to be some way of adding people on that can host the world when the server owner isn't. Like a cohost so say if me and 2 of my best friends host a server that people play on but im the host and I have to go away for 2 weeks. I can set them as co-hosts where they could then host the server. If this is not possible because of the Xbox terms of use than oh well, we'll live with it but if it's possible I'd look into it.
Second, I know you have to work around the limitations of the xbox and such but 8 players for a server? There are other arcade games designed around minecraft that can hold at least 16 to a server. Again if this is not possible with the xbox version than we'll live with it because i dont know the coding behind the game so i cant say well it's possible to do this because other games can. I just think the game would be more enjoyable if more people could play on one server.
Im sorry that its a lot to read and i dont want people to come on here and flame and say oh you cant do that because of this and that reason. I don't know anything about making games or running games. These are just my suggestions and my opinions. I only decided to voice them because I have heard many other people saying the same thing. And dont get me wrong I love the game and I think you guys did a fantastic job porting this to a console which im sure was not an easy task. And Im going to play the game regardless of what happens because i enjoy it.
If you took the time to read this thank you,

4J have mentioned that they are looking into the possibility of some kind of "rented" servers for this purpose. There's one basic issue with your proposal in that currently there's no real (legitimate) way to share (any) save game content with another user. This is because of MS security concerns and to stop people cheating. The rental server type setup is probably the only option we will have for this sort of thing, and that's a wait and see how it pans out with the talks between MS and 4J.

There are already noticable lag issues with multiplayer and various crashing bugs related to players in different dimensions (Overworld vs Nether). Adding another 8 players would complicate this even more. I'm not saying it's not possible, but I doubt it will happen in the short term. Perhaps when/if rentable servers become a reality they might support 16 players on them? Who knows.
