Hey guys, I have been lurking in the forums for a while now, it's an awesome comunity you have here.
Anyway, on to the topic: I have two buildings I use for farming trees and wheat. Both are made entirely of glass. The thing is, every night when I go to sleep, the next day, I find A LOT of chickens running in the buildings. Usually there's 10-15 chickens in a 20x25 area. Obviously, they wreck my wheat crops. I've double-checked and there are no holes in the walls or ceiling, so, any idea what's going on?
Sorry if there's something obvious that I'm not looking, I'm new to minecraft.
Also, english is not my native language, so forgive me for any grammar mistakes.
I read somewhere on the forum that animals have a higher chance of spawning in flat, well lit, grassy areas. Are you using to much light?
Something else you can try is to change any dirt squares you don't need to either sand or cobblestone to see if that reduces the number of spawned mobs.
I have a wheat farm, built on sand, and planted wheat in dirt. All the dirt squares have wheat. In other words, if it isn't dirt with wheat planted on it, it's sand. All glassed in, torches in the corners.
No chicken (or any other mob) problem.
"Well lit" and "Grassy"
You're describing my buildings perfectly, haha. I'll try replacing every non essential grass block with wood or stone. Thanks for the help!
