Hey Fayzed, I was wondering since the update came out will the slime finder still work in 1.8.2? I know its possible to just switch in between creative and survival but slime farms are still something I use.
Yup it should be working, I dont think the algorithm for slime chunks is affected by terrain changes.
Cool....also have a unrelated question anyone can answer. How do you delete blocks from your creative inventory/hot bar without dropping them or grabbing something else, and while in the menu of course. Can't find anywhere on the help that says it....or at least found it yet.

Infinite Bucket water/lava should be in the next update
A delete button as well in place of the Quick Move button on the Creative hotbar.

You can pick up the said block you want removing and then back out of the creative menu. Thats the only way I have found. So pick up object from hotbar then press b and it will dissapear.
On a side note, anyone interested in me putting a slime splitter guide up on first page, either drowing or lava based? I dont have a capture device, but could do pics
So as many people know that i am a decent slime farm maker anyways i made a new world and i thought holy sht i goto make an automatic melon farm so i was like okeh! me go make a slime farm so i did and ive been sitting here 30 blocks away creepin waiting for slime to spawn but they aint spawning i got the right coord and all that i triple checked i know the seed is right everything is ride so either minecraft slime finder is broken or its a bug or im jsut a retard if anyone wants to check it out Add AgentX44Jobo.
Its no glitch, and the fog would have no effect. If you read the first page I have stated that the slime finder tool still works as it has nothing to do with terrain generation.
Edit: My new farm works fine, it took awhile for them to spawn because there were massive ravines and a mineshaft near my farm which I had to light up.
I've tried this method about 3 times in three different areas even going so far as to replace all of the hole's walls and roof with glowstone and still no slimes. I think this doesn't work well with the recent 1.8.2 update since it changed the seed data.

The slime finder tool has nothing to do with seeds or terrain/biomes it is taken from chunk data. So there isnt anything wrong with the tool in that sense. If there was a certain version the tool was restricted too it wouldve stated when using it. People use this tool today for 1.3 which is a different terrain generation as we have. I assure you again, the tool works fine. You more than likely have caves/ravines/abandoned mineshafts around hindering the chances for slimes to spawn
This method works on and off for me. Some worlds it works and others it doesn't. I typed in my seed to the slime chunk finder and made a large room close to bedrock there, lit it up, lit up the surrounding slimes. And i still can't find any slimes. I even replaced all the torches on the ground with Jack O Lanterns.
Are there any updates to the slime farm for Nov. 1.8.2? About to build my first slime farm post 1.7.3 patch and was wondering if there were any changes?
Can you use pumpkins in the floor as lights or do they take up a spawn square like torches do? Glowstone still a bad idea for floor lighting?
Video Guide! Hope It helps

Nice video DEnT. It seems to me though that slimes now do despawn if you flip into peaceful mode after spawning them. I think I even checked this out in a world of mine awhile ago. I'm not in front of an Xbox right now, so I can't check it out again, but I will later on tonight.
Yes, ran tests last night in my slime farm. Waited until some slimes generated. Stood in middle of my slime farm while looking at the slimes and saved and exited. Re-entered on Easy difficulty and slimes were still there. Re-entered on Peaceful and slimes disappeared. Happened the same every time. Slimes definitely now do despawn if the world is changed into Peaceful mode after they have spawned.

Yes it will still work based on what Fayzed said about terrain changes.
