You could've had water over one lot of pads to "turn off" one trap. Much easier when pistons come out soon.
my mob spawer is in the sky 35 blocks in the sky in the center of the map are you telling me this will reduce my chances it is not under ground. it is 30 x 30

Did you find a slime chunk right below your mob spawner?it could affect the slimes
Oh youre the one who sent a message? Aye its cool man, I was just busy that day (wasnt on my original xbox, using friends xbox instead) No worries bro. So you managed to help a friend's slime farm, but wouldn't work on your world?
I did not use a seed I need help find at least the first slim that should give me an area to start from to build the trap, I get lots of troll who do damage to my map so I end up using my back up to restore map because when I find them they have destoryed some thing and they start to laugh and leave, So I block communications and restore the save and move on losing the work I have done to find slimes.

no I have never found a slime and never new about them till the day before yesterday when I was told about stick pistons and why it was so important
You should turn on "Invite Only" to prevent people from joining. And for finding your seed, it requires uploading your gamesave data which FayzedNZ stated. You'll need to dload the Seed Extractor for that. Once you find your seed, upload it to the Slime Finder app online and you should find some chunks.
okay it took awhile but i figured out that you were talking about xbox minecraft. i was gonna say most people just don't wanna check the wiki about slimes and such
I read this to, I read every thing I could on slimes be contacting anyone on this issue and asking for help I dont like to bother people with something that was already in the forum or on wiki

I never used a seed though this is the issue it is random so how is a seed finder going to help me on my xbl acc
my save is a .bin file I read the form on this and found were someone copied there saves to a usb the to pc for back ups so I did this.
it is set to uinvite only and when I invite them thats when I find the damage they say "trust me" oh your would is so cool wow. Then while I am working and they are supose to be serahing that when it happens.
So yeah my trush is pretty thin now.
if you know were this tool is I will try it on the .bin file I have a copy of it on my pc
ok I found a tool to extract the savegame.dat from the .bin file and now I have this I do not have a site to upload this file to I have seached the forum and the best I could find was about level.dat that must be in side the savegame.dat I can not find a way to extract the level.dat from the gamesave.dat though
No, no, you have it all correct there, just not the level.dat part, thats for PC. with the savegame.dat just simply dload Seed Extractor and place the savegame.dat folder in the same place as the batch file. Run the batch file, and IT SHOULD show ur seed.

yes with some digging I found it and it worked even with a random map a seed was created so now I can used the tool now to find my slimes I will use this to help others in my same situation thanks for helping me to find the random seed I will pick a slime location far away form the mob spawner as well
it is a long long group of numbers with a - in frount of it
So this is resolved now
thanks for helping point me in the correct directions
Pretty sure I had that in my first post about using that to get your seed if you used a random one =P even linked to the thread about it. Glad you were able to get your seed. Happy slime hunting.
If I'm walking about building whatever on the surface, will the slimes still spawn in underground?
There's a chance they will spawn and a chance they will disappear. The best way is to go AFK while you're about 24 blocks away somewhere in a safe place.

Ok. And is there a way to tell the exact layer that the slimes are on , or do you just keep trying between layer 0 and 16
I am on Y = 12 and after a few tweaks
I saw GOESTR 760 spawner his produced form 58 to 60 slimes each time and his Y is hiegher up then mine and he was lucky finding his I found mind using the tools
He came to my map and point out one big issue you must have two blocks wide of smooth stone or cobble stone along the out side wall floor do not use or you will have only small slimes. this was my problem, I now average any were from 30 to to 60 on easy slimes
this forum does not address this it does addres hieght
If you have a slime half in and half out of a wall push the wall back four blocks this will correct the issue and if it continues keep pushing it will only bring you more slimes
I used his glass roof, drowning pool and and AR3 light lay out in an "L" using three slim spawn blocks
Thanks GOESTR 760 and AR3
I can say these two will help you out and are not map trolls

They spawn in all those layers, so its possible to make multiple floors for increased chances of more slimes spawning.
Just make sure they're 3 blocks highs unless you dont want big slimes.
@Evildog
Not sure what you mean by the wall being outside, if you're referring to slimes getting stuck in walls, it does say in my first post that the big slimes are 2.4 blocks (width/height) so a 3 block space is need for them to spawn and stay. If you have 2 high/wide space big ones will spawn but be suffocated into medium slimes because of being glitched into a wall

I'm a newb to slime farms, but wouldn't that be a good thing? If you spawned larges that broke into mediums immediately...its saving you a step and getting more small slimes in the end. Its the small ones you get goo from anyway, right? Hell, I dont know
Slimeballs were the last item in my world to be found. I got em today, finally. At first I could not get em to spawn but then I read a tip that worked - I dug a horizontal tunnel away from my 16x16x4 room down at bedrock for about 25-30 blocks away. And I waited. And waited. Kept checking the room and going back down the dead end corridor to wait some more. After a half hour, two small slimes were in the room!! I collected three slimeballs which is all I wanted to complete my collection of items.
So the tip is: go more than 24 blocks away from the room (or more accurately the slime chunk outer edge limit if your room isn't the entire chunk) and WAIT. Wait a long time if necessary. My problem apparently was that by going all the way back to the surface via my ladder, it was too many blocks away. The tip I read mentioned not to go more than 32 blocks away. I'm not sure that's accurate, but waiting at about 27 blocks away did the trick for me.
Also, the web apps for slime chunks listed in the wiki does work, I confirmed it, put in my seed and the first chunk I tried did eventually spawn some slimes (on easy mode),

Check your map and look at the Y-coordinate, be atleast at level 16 or below. Just to make sure it'll work just go a few blocks above bedrock.
