You never believe what happend pro me I made my room co ordinates and everything I waited 10 mins went back and boom 3 massive slimes, I didn't have time to attack them as I never had my sword on me. I got killed I go back there is no slimes there do I have to wait again?

Dont use a sword unless its wooden. Best weapon is a bow. I use which ever dirt/stone chunk I have.

I'm mining out a few Slime chunks & I've come across a minor problem?
The slime finder tool says -64,-96 to -48,-80.
In the first picture below I am standing at X: -48, Y: 5, Z: -80.
Count the torches from dirt block to dirt block. 17, right?
Here I am standing at X: -48, Y: 5, Z: -80. Again, count the torches on the wall from dirt block to dirt block. 17, right?
Isn't it suppose to be a chunk 16x16?
64-48=16
96-80=16.
Why is mine 17x17? I'm I doing something wrong, or did I not get enough sleep last night? I want it 16x16 so it's all hunky-dory. How do I fix this so It's the correct 16x16? Does this post even make sense?

The tool says your on the chunk. Are you standing in/around the chunk, or are you some distance away? I would suggest moving 25 blocks or more away from the chunk & wait for 10 minutes.

Yes my slime chunk in my world is a small 17x17, in the update i noticed when you move one block it wont count it as for example x:16.5 instead it jst goes from 16,17,18, etc. its hard to explain but i noticed this. it won't really effect it in a bad way, expanding it will just improve the slime chunk

Quick question. I have a hotel in 360 and my slime farm is IN my hotel, where I sleep. So, since the farm is 24 blocks down, will they still spawn? I'm WAY over 24 blocks above them, but probably only 8 blocks away. Will they spawn?
used the co-ords and made a 32 x 16 which was where 2 chunks should be at about level 10-12 above bedrock.
Cleared the area got a ton of resources + Diamondooo's, took a while due to lava and water but once made and lit... i had no slimes
until....!
I went away, and did some other bits for a while then came back and there were plenty of slimes jumping around

that would be about 32 blocks away then, they are most likely to despawn. a few blocks closer and you should be good

But they spawn if you are AT LEAST 24 blocks away so since I'm 32 shouldn't I be good? I would also like to mention that my floor is COMPLETELY Glowstone and is 1 block above bedrock. There is also 4 blocks of clearance. Should I just wait longer?
I'm curious if anyone has created a vertical Slime Farm. I've seen many people here post pictures of their Slime farms and most consist of one large room to harvest Slimeballs in.
I'm in the process of building a vertical Slime Farm which will enable me to harvest Slimes on four 16x16 pads giving me 1,024 block spawning area - on levels 4-6, 8-10, 12-14, and 16-18 (since they spawn on layer 16 and below currently). I will then transport them to the surface via water channels and ladders so I won't have a need to travel deep in order to get my slimeballs. My current slime farm is being built along the idea of what Etho presented in his SMP world as seen here:
