I have come upon a spider dungeon far below my house, and I was thinking of making it into a spider trap so I can get a lot of string. The only problem for this though, is that I have never made a spawn trap before. I was wondering if anyone could help me, it would be very appreciated.

Easiest spider trap would be to place cactus. S is the spawner block and just plant cactus on the sand. Thats the basic design, expand as needed, just be sure to leave a 2 high x 4cube space for them to spawn.
Edit: Added door way "D" .. you don't want to go in the other way, they wont hit the cactus
I have one in my bedroom. Skeleton though. I use a lava blade and water. Water in the mob room pushing them towards a hole and a sign. A little drop to more water and the lava blade.
