All the mobs are great, each has it's own unique features and they all serve a purpose.
But... which passive mob stands out the most for you? And what do you do with wolves?
I love chickens. Not sure exactly why, they're just "appealing".
Personally, I rarely use wolves (mainly because I never find them). If I do stumble upon some, I'll tame them and keep them next to my bed(s). If needed, I'll take them out with me to fight (in critical situations).
I like pigs cause they give a butt load of food, and I use wolves for comfort by putting them in my house and I sometimes bring wolves with me in caves to watch my back.
Favorite passive mob would probably be chickens, because their feathers are an absolute necessity to give me a steady supply of arrows, plus they give free food while you're at it.
So my wolves are far more useful than the vanilla mutts. They can be handy in defense with some of those skills the mod adds, or even to ride like a horse, but I usually train them up with the inventory skill and have them follow me down into my mines as a little furry chest with legs. You can spend so much longer digging up resources when your inventory isn't clogged with food, tools and junk that you've already discovered and mined out.
This is the Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft, we don't have any mods or get food from chickens yet, lol. Aside from that, that's a pretty nifty mod! Also, once chickens do start dropping food, they'll become much more useful. And arrows, gotta have em.

If you think pigs give a butt load of food, wait til we get the 1.8 update; cows will not disappoint.
Pigs are my favorite since they keep me alive. As for the wolves they are a great asset because i play alone. Cant go wrong with a bodyguard while im mining.
I love pigs because they give the best food, and they bring alot of amusement when they walk into my mob grinder for no reason. That's the best. I also only use wolves for comfort. My friend almost lost all of his dogs in the same trap that the pigs go in.

the best medicine is flint and steel. Well... at least for me
My favorite mob would have to be duckens (I refuse to call it a chicken) simply for feathers when i'm playing legit survival. Usually I'm using the dupe glitch and building stuff though, in which case I hate all mobs, especially cows and sheep. They seem to get in the way most often. As for wolves, I used to have a pack, but.. meh, just don't use them anymore.
Lots of different answers and opinions (which is good)! Currently, pigs have the most votes with sheep right behind them. Looks like more people don't just use wolves for defense then I thought (and overall use). I'm liking the feedback.

Dude, this is the 360 edition. My mod doesn't exist for that. No mod does.
Please don't advertize my mod here
Heh, I envy you guys... your wolves are the old ones, they haven't been turned into soulless zombies by the new AI
