edit* Sorry didnt realise there was a bug in beta 1.5 which wasnt fixed until sometime after, so yes they do spawn on peaceful on the xbox version =P

In the current version, yes, they do. It's either 1.8.1 or 1.0.0 (Full Release) when it's fixed (probably 1.8.1).
