I was thinking about starting a new world and starting fresh since my current world doesn't have clay due to me making it on the first day minecraft came out. But I want to start a new one and was wondering if I will have to start over again with any of the upcoming updates. If anyone knows, please let me know.
Anything that involves terrain changes, such as abandoned mineshafts, ravines, strongholds, villages, etc. will require you to start a new world(assuming you have explored everywhere on your world prior to the update). Additions of new items, such as piston, shear, etc. will not require a new world to use.
oh yeah i heard that to but i discovered the entire world already. I was just wondering if I were to start a new world and the new updates that are coming out like 1.7.2,1.8, etc will I have to start over again?
