Howdy people 2nd post here and I didn't see any post about linking worlds together via portals.
I posted this in the xboxlive forums here and a few people like the idea.
I read here and there that some people wanted to be able to connect their worlds. I had an idea of how to do it, by using obsidian and diamond.
Basically you would make a portal of obsidian and diamond. It would be the same as a normal portal, but it needs diamonds to work between normal worlds. Just one diamond block is all that is needed, but it too needs to be set in the exact spot on all portals.
If you wanted to connect to more than one of your worlds, You would have to create another portal for each world you wanted to connect to. then you would have to change the location coordinates of the portal, but not by much just enough to clear any obstacle.
Not sure if this has been posted before or even if they would do it, but it would help with the limit on map size
