o-o thnx for the info. But at this point when ppl ate struggling with money.I dont want hiles through my pockets. But i might buy a pack depending of thr skins. At least we dont have to pay for skins indubidually ( srry for spelling stupid ipod)
If you don't want to pay for skin packs ... then don't! Geez, people will post anything.
One major reason for not releasing a skin editor that nobody seems to have touched on (surprisingly) is the capability for abuse. i.e. it'll be 20 seconds before some 14yo has made a penis-man skin, or a skin that says "f*** you". Given the particular family focused bent of Minecraft, I really don't think this is something that Microsoft would allow, and the extra overhead of policing this sort of thing is probably more than 4J/Mojang would be prepared to cover.
Just do this, for the people who want the stuff (like Me) Buy a MSP card to use specifically for minecraft. That way you have 1600 msp for skin packs and texture packs (if they are added.) Probably what i'll do cause I don't think 4J will let m$ make us pay more then 400 msp for a skin pack. I bet it will be like 240 or even 80.
I hope there is some good skins, 40+ skins is a great way to get things going. Though i'd love a skin editor, this is a great way to make some money too. I don't mind paying as long as we keep getting our updates and the stuff looks nice. I'm down, thanks for posting this.

I think I know the answer to this one already but just to be safe...
Will the same two people in a game be able to have the same skins for example I join my friends world as tuxedo Steve and he has tuxedo Steve on too.
That way we could populate prisons with the prison Steve or have tennis courts with tennis Steve.

Oh i know this just look at what happened with TF2 on the Orange box.
I know it would never happen but if people were to boycott paying for skins then we might get heard.
This will never happen while we have idiots with more money than sense that would pay ridiculous prices to look like blocky versions of game characters.
The only way I would pay for a 40+ skin pack would be if it was less than $5. Either way, calling someone an idiot on what they use their own money for is stupid and arrogant. I bet I could use your same logic with things you spend money on in real life. "Hey, you go out to eat every Friday? You're an idiot, why go out to eat when you have food to make at home?" Being an example.
well if a avatar item can go for 400ms points (not a full outfit either just a item say like a lightsaber) i'm pretty sure these skin packs will be more then $5. I can honestly (hopefully not) see them for $10!
I didn't realize that Black Ops was a family friendly, G rated game, and doesn't have a large company backing it with people whose day jobs are to weed out abuse of custom emblems like that. My mistake. I'll go back to only reading one part of what people say and ignoring the rest of the points now.

Wow, my thread kind of exploded in the last couple of days... Even got some official 4J visits on it now lol
Yeah, a Skin Creator would have been a bad idea. I've seen many things in Black Ops that just made me go wow. People making emblems that look like beastiality, extreme violnce, genitals both male and female, and just plenty of other unsavory things. That is why they won't do a Skin Creator. People aren't mature enough for it.
Oh and to anyone saying that PC players could be mature enough, they aren't. They are just like console kids. I've played SMP on the PC for a long time and seen plenty of unpleasant skins.
I will take any skins they will give for free, and, If I read right, they are. I'm not wasting my money on skins (Not to change subject but I can assure you they will do the exact same thing for texture packs-selling them for M$ Points), so I'll just slowly rack up my points in XBL Rewards.

By populate I hope you mean up to 8 people lol
If they are sensitive about cursing on signs imagine how they would feel about users creating their own skins
Ik, that's why I rather mod it myself to save them some trouble
But then microsoft wouldn't make any money.
