So looks like Skin DLC is going to cost like they said, but you'll get a few free skins. Also, with 40+ skins in a pack, seems like you might get some bang for your buck. Though they say that a price is still being discussed with Microsoft.

I wonder if xbox version will get any higher RES textures (if so i dont see them getting any higher then 32x32) that would be very interesting :D, but any to the OP. kinda weird how there how there's free textures and stuff with trial i take it there themed, maybe beings you get to try some of them out.
Hopefully the skins will offer a wide range of choice and not loads of slightly different permutations of a few skins.
I think they are looking at using a lot of Xbox game characters. They said on their twitter that they were looking at known IP (intellectual properties) for skins.

That's good. Glad to know it's not 40 variations of Steve.
I do respect their decision of releasing skins but I'd prefer paying for a skin creator rather than a skin pack itself.
Think about it though. This is Microsoft we're talking about. Why would they give you something you can use to make free skins for yourself and others, when they can charge you money for them?
Microsoft isn't stupid. It's good business. There is a huge demand for skins and they know they are sitting on a gold mine because people will pay for them.
While I like the idea of DLC and hope we get some cool stuff, skins have no use to me tbh and not something I would download even if free.
Well 2 million people have downloaded Minecraft (to our current knowledge) and if even half of those people buy a $1 to $5 dollar Skin Pack DLC, Microsoft will again be rolling in money from Minecraft.
This sounds really cool, I would love if they did a competition to have a user created skin put into the game, or maybe a few user created skins. Sort of like how TF2 do it with hats.

There will be Trial versions of the Skin DLC meaning you can try some of the skins before you pay for them.

They have also said there will be 40+ skins in each pack.

Skins also appear in multiplayer. The 8 different versions of Steve are nice, but people would rather use what they prefer.
Yeah this is what I was hoping for as well. I still will end up buying whatever is out there though...

Even for a 40-skin pack? I'm expecting 400 points for one of those.
