Well i have some problems with the "Y" coord in the map.
When i come to the height 128 (on top of the block 128) the map show 129, and i think that the legs are height
but the issue is, when i on top of the second layer of bedrock the map show 4 on Y, and i only see 2 layers of bedrock, and so the head is the height o.0
The top block is actually 127. It is numbered 0-127.
Ah, yes, but the level of your head is what is being displayed for the Y, which is throwing it off.
The Y coordinate is off by 2. If you are standing next to an ocean, it should be y=64 (y=64.62000000476837 on the PC version to be exact), but it shows as y=66.
If you are next to lava (at the lava level, not just a random pool of it) you should be reading y=12, but it says 14.
I had a hard time at first finding the right level for diamonds, because I went to bedrock and counted up 12 blocks. Unfortunately, I was actually at y=14, so after several hours of not finding many diamonds, I went down 2 blocks and found tons of them.

Diamonds go up to layer 16, you shouldn't have had too much trouble finding them

Thank you, miss the point guy. My point is, that the coordinates are not the same as the PC version, which means that anywhere the coordinates are referenced, (on the forums, the wiki, etc..) it's going to be wrong for the Xbox version.
Don't you worry, I found the right level and found some diamonds within 5 minutes of starting a mine, but friends who haven't played the PC version before were having trouble finding them until we figured out it is off by 2. By the way, if you are digging at 14 and up, you are going to miss a whole lot of diamonds...but you should know that already right?
The X-Box version is the same as Minecraft Beta 1.6.6 for PC, this includes seeds, diamond tricks and other things. For example the seed 'glacier' would work again

I believe you are not taking into account that the water level was moved a block or two sometime around the adventure update. (If I remember correctly)
The correct answer to this topic is "Yes, coordinates are wrong." The proper way to do map coordinates is X, Y and Z, where X and Y are horizontal position, and Z is vertical. This is the way Cartesian coordinates have worked for over 400 years. I have no clue how Notch managed to screw it up.
