I wouldnt give up yet, I have 4 Xbox 360s. 2 of them are the old white models and they have both RROD several times, but I just allow them to cool and they have always restarted for me... still working today... I do keep the dust out of the vents and have a small fan in the entertainment cabinet that they are sitting in and that seems to have solved the RROD problem for me... Good Luck man! Also, if your Xbox does not come back on, there are YouTube videos that show you how to fix this. A friend of mine claims to have bought several of them on Craigslist, fixed them applying some kind of penny trick that I know nothing about and then resold them... in any event good luck to you.
Dont give up. My Xbox was redringed the other day actually and i just cleaned it out and it works again. Theres most likely something in it. Mine just had a lot of dust in the hard drive slot thingy.
Umm, they do still sell the 360 last time I checked..... (last month) Refurbishing is also an option..... If ya wanna give up gaming that's your choice. It is a damn shame though. See ya later BRO BTW RROD usually happens a few days/weeks after the warranty expires.... I wonder why.... Planned obsolescence anyone???
dont troll pleaseFor the 360 slim models, there is no such thing as the 'ring' of death. It's actually the red 'dot' of death, because the light in the center turns red.
but opening it up and doing the penny trick is so easy

The internet is a place where you can make long-lasting friendships. You can also watch 2 girls drink diarrhea from a glass. Two sides to every coin....

If you have a hard drive try removing it and turning your Xbox on without it. I know you probably won't be able to play Minecraft without that hard drive. But your Xbox might still be working.
My old Xbox started to not read discs and just straight up refused to work at times. Took the hard drive off and it worked perfectly. It did eventually die anyway. But the life of it was prolonged a bit.
Mine didn't have the RRoD but it might still be worth trying.
