Slimes can spawn in lit areas? i thought they followed the normal enemy mob rules... besides for spawning on peaceful
yes slimes can spawn in bright light. This is good because it eliminates other mobs from spawning in a bright-lit slime farm. Ill upload a pic later of my slime farm.

I heard flint and steel was a good way to fight them. I will try that in the future. Right now i have the issue that i just started up my game in peaceful mode and this room was full of tiny slimes.
I wasnt aware they could spawn in peaceful mode.

Okay, I know this sounds stupid. But I used the website previously posted... But what do the coord numbers mean?.. Before I tear up my world, I want to know what each number means.. Which is X, which is Y and which is Z?...
x and z are directional (up, down, left, right), y is the height
The light doesnt affect the spawning of slimes, so its good to light up the room so other mobs dont spawn there, also you want to light up any caves in the area too so other mobs wont spawn there either. They can take awhile to spawn
Its skeptical, some people say they spawn on peaceful, others dont. I always thought they didnt. Ive also heard that only small slimes spawn on peaceful because they arent aggressive. Again I dont know for sure, apparently there was a bug in this version where they would. Not certain though

I think the above poster is correct. I was playing on normal. saved an exited. Came back on peaceful and i was in my safe room off my slime spawner and found them. They were likely there already before i saved in normal mode.

Retired StaffYou cant as of yet, i think 4J are adding your world seeds onto the map on the next 1.7.3 update.
Slimes drop slime balls which are used with pistons to make sticky pistons, also coming in the 1.7.3 update

Retired StaffI think the above poster is correct. I was playing on normal. saved an exited. Came back on peaceful and i was in my safe room off my slime spawner and found them. They were likely there already before i saved in normal mode.
