I am currently playing on the map seed Quesadila and I would like to know if anyone knows where a chunk might be for me to find the slime's. I could use the coordinates. Sorry for my grammar I'm from Alabama. lol
Google Slime Finder and enter your seed into the page, this will show you all the chunks (with coords) where slimes spawn. I think in 1.6 slimes only spawned in layers 16 and below. Not too sure though
I didn't want to start a new thread for this. i thought it would fit well here. I used the slime finder at http://extension.ws/minecraft/slimes.html and on my seed of 8675309 it said one of the places spawns would slime was between -16,-96 to 0,-80. I dig a 16x16 hole at that location, hollowed out the last 16 blocks and lit the area. I also lit surrounding caves and any other areas i thought might interfere. But after several different attempts i still haven't seen slimes. Is there anything else i can do? I tried playing it on easy, medium, and hard without any slimes.

Did you dig out your hole low enough? 1.6.6 beta slimes only spawned on layer 16 and below. Also they take awhile to spawn.

What are the coordinates near your house? there could be a slime chunk beneath it.
Well anyway I found a huge slime chunk area in the coordinates (x,z) : -16,-112 to 0,-96 Just dig right below that and go up about 4-levels above bedrock and make a 16x16x5 area to start off.
GUYS I have created a slime farm if you would like to know how I did it you can add me DUMsmellaDUMDUM
When you add me send me a message saying "slime farm"
So if I didn't type a seed in, and instead went with a randomly generated world. How would I go about finding slimes? I've only found one near bedrock, and it didn't even drop anything.
Just make sure you are atleast 24 blocks away from your room and wait. Go afk or do something for an hour or so then go back and check. I dont know how slimes behaved in 1.6.6 but they only have a low spawn chance currently. I see you've litten up caves etc around you so that should increase the chances. Just be patient and check back not too soon.

I increased the size of the room(the next two chucks were also slime enabled), i made an offshoot room about 30 spaces away and hid there for 2 hours. I went back to the room and nothing. I also provided a screenshot in case i did something obviously wrong.
EDIT:
Literally 10 seconds after i posted this image my first slime spawned. He didnt drop anything but at least he spawned!
Going by your first post on this thread, you said you used the chunk at -16, -96 to 0, -80, looking at the app doesnt show anymore chunks next to it, unless you've moved it? Another thing you could do is dig out additional rooms above the area you've already dug out (if you dont mind digging) this will surely increase more slime spawns (provided your surrounding caves are litten. Cause dont forget they spawn from layer 16 down, so multiple levels of 3 high rooms can be made, and later when pistons arrive you could setup some water with pistons to flush them to a certain point and/or drowner to make a farm. (be more than happy to help just pm me)

That is correct my original slime spawn was at those coordinates however i made another room only 3 high at -96, 16 - 112 , 0 to make it easier to control light levels. a chunk on each side also were slime enabled. I should have mentioned this earlier.
But it did finally work and so far i have 57 slime balls. I do find it weird i cannot kill them with my sword for they don't divide into smaller versions they just die. So i have been punching them to death.
Hey twisteddragon your slime room could use glowstone, the more light the more chance of slimes spawning. Also, use flint and steel to divide the bigger slime chunks easier.

I heard flint and steel was a good way to fight them. I will try that in the future. Right now i have the issue that i just started up my game in peaceful mode and this room was full of tiny slimes.
For those of you that are finding slimes, but not getting any drops when you kill them, try this. When they are large or medium sized, shoot them with arrows. Once they are in their smallest form, you can kill them any way you want.
I haven't tried this since the patch, but before that, when attacking large or medium slimes with something besides arrows, they would just die, but arrows would cause them to split correctly, and then a sword kill would cause the small ones to drop slimeballs.
Okay, I know this sounds stupid. But I used the website previously posted... But what do the coord numbers mean?.. Before I tear up my world, I want to know what each number means.. Which is X, which is Y and which is Z?...
On your map in the game the first number is X, second number is Y(on most websites the second number(height) is not given because slimes only spawn on the lowest chunk(bottom 16 levels) of the map. The last(third) number is Z. The website posted has the X and Z sides of the table labeled.

I too was having trouble by overkilling the large and medium slimes and getting no drops however i was able to make them break into smaller pieces by using anything other than my diamond tools(even my diamond shovel seemed to over kill them). I used a piece of cobblestone to break one apart and i held and arrow and used it for another, even a bone on a third. I agree shooting the arrows might be easiest.
However i found an effective method is to have a 3 high ceiling. Place a cobblestone wall 1 high between you and them. The large ones cannot get over the wall so you can stab them over it repeatedly until they break into smaller ones. the smaller ones you are usually able to break before they get over the wall as well. When they get to tiny size they no longer do you any damage so jump over the wall and have fun killing them all.
Do you have to create your room at specific Co ords or can you dig down to bedrock make a large room and hope for the best ?
Only some chunks have the ability to spawn slimes. Earlier in this post was a link to a slime spawn finder that will tell you the coordinated for finding slimes. They will only spawn in those areas near bedrock.

I did a 16x16x3 room at bedrock.

I wasnt aware they could spawn in peaceful mode.
