What I think is that since there is no night or day in the Nether, and while you can only sleep at night, the universe isn't able to compute, goes crazy, and simply blows up your bed.
Maybe because there's no day/night cycle in the nether.
it is PERFECTLY normal and it will explode in the End too... don't know if you know what End is, though
