Hello Minecraft Community. Lately I've been working on building a passive mob system down near bedrock level. I figured building it down low would be the best way to keep spawn rates high. Anyways, for some reason it's not spawning and I was wondering if anybody had any idea why? The spawning pads are grass and are very well lit; I've also tried afking for a while at around 30 blocks away from them. The only thing I can think of is maybe there's a depth limit for passive mobs to spawn. Can anybody confirm this or have any other ideas?
I don't think there is a depth limit, however there is a limit on the number of passive mobs in a certain area. I've read of people not having new passives showing up and it turned out to be because they had something like 20 tame wolves hanging around. Are there any passive mobs back up at surface level near where your spawner is?
I built something similar on top of my regular mob spawner > 25 blocks in the air, but it hasn't been spawning either. I figured it was because it was too close to other landmass where passives had naturally spawned. I intend to rebuild it somewhere out to sea and see if it works then.

Hmm, when and if you do that, please let me know how it goes. It's weird that neither of ours have been working. If it is because of a depth limit, looks like there may be a height limit too. If this is the case, building one at sea level should work.
Anyways, I have a few wolves at my house, but only 1 or 2. I suppose they would stay loaded with the chunk instead of despawning like normal mobs? I'll definitely take care of them and see if that helps.
