It may just be me, but I personally find brick to be kind of out of place and sort of gaudy. There are only a couple places and under certain conditions where I would ever use it, such as a fireplace for a modern style house. (I find that other blocks most of the time look better) and maybe a NY style appartment building. (The only brick building Ive seen so far that I actually liked.
All the houses and trim I have seen brick used for (except for the aforementioned apartment building) are all pretty ugly and out of place IMHO. Actual clay blocks can be a little more useful. For pixel art or maybe if someone is looking for a slightly different shade of grey for their structure or project. I don't know, they just don't look visually appealing to me (the brick being worse then the clay) I guess it's to each, their own. I'm just wondering if anyone else feels the same?
im just not likeing bricks, i mean i started a new map when i buyed mcxbla, i found 5 clay blocks, i took and burned them, i dont need them, but theres some parts that bricks is being needed
The bricks are great. I've been building a small city with some friends and the bricks look great for outdoor fireplaces, roads, and certain styles of houses/buildings.
I don't use them a lot but they have made the city look much better when used correctly.

BRICKS are amazing for survival there easy to get and creepers can blow the-------out of them and obsidain just takes way to long to mine its more of a safety block then decorative just think of the 3 little pigs the other houses looked nice the brick was ugly but when them creepers come out it'll shut em out
People were only making a big deal of it for something to complain about. Same old same old.
The reason people care about clay/bricks is because they are supposed to be there. If yellow flowers were not in the game people would complain because they wanted to make yellow dye and they couldn't. People usually want what they can't have.

I can't speak for everyone, but I will. Everyone that has ever seen brick thinks it's gaudy and out of place.

The only reason I've ever used brick on PC is because I could change the texture pack. Or because I wanted to make a gaudy brick chimney.
