Well exactly how would i get the slimes to spawn exactly? I have a 50 by 50 room and every now and then a big slime will spawn how would i get more to spawn?

go around the area and search for cave systems and light them up only x amount of mobs can spawn in an area so if around your cleared out slime spawner is a bunch of caves that are completely dark more than likely things are spawning in there and thats why you are not getting many slimes
I just finished mine recently. Works well, except for getting them up to the surface. For some reason the big slimes keep teleporting backwards on my water staircase, and when I do finally get them to the surface, the big slimes keep going through a 1x1 hole they shouldn't be fitting through, instead of drowning, and then they get stuck and I can't kill them. I do currently have around 7 stacks of slimeballs though.
I cleared out a 100 x 30 x 6 room at bedrock and usually have 4-5 big slimes in it. Took a long time to dig it but I have a ridiculous amount of resources to build something with now.

Give a man fire and he's warm for a day, light a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.
Slimes only spawn in specific chunks, so that's the only way to really spawn them. I'd say just clear out a big 50x50 room where you spotted your slimes, and fence it off to make sure they don't wander away. That's what I did.
