While playing Minecraft, my friend was making iron armor. While making it, I attacked and killed him because I wanted his iron helmet. When I put it on, I noticed I randomly got some iron boots and an iron chest piece, except it looked like it was an iron vest, even though I was only wearing the helmet. He later made golden armor, which made us grow about twice in size. Not height, but width. Golden armor was the only armor that did this. The tools also lost their health meters.
Here is a video, shot in terrible quality, showing the glitch. The quality may reduce you to tears. You have been warned. I only found one video similar to this, and it only showed the iron and diamond armor.
Did this happen to anybody else? If so, how?
I feel like I should post this in the morning to increase my chances of finding out what happened.
Edit: Yeah. I should have posted this in the morning.
I have experienced this before in my server during a large period of lag. We were messing around by destroying everything in my city on a backed up save. When I made my Diamond Armor, it didn't show me wearing anything in the profile above the inventory. Instead, it seemed to add onto the original character skin, therefore making the appearance thicker. According to my friends, it was visible from others' perspectives. Also, while during this lag span, the durability of the "obese armor" and my tools were not to be seen.
Probably an occasional problem with minor damages. I don't think this can be fixed, and even if it could be, I don't want 4J Studios spending much of their time on this.
I have been attempting to recreate this issue with no success currently.
Do you have any more information regarding this?.
Was any Lag occurring at the time?.
Was it only the golden armour that caused you to grow in size?
Did the tools losing Health meters happen before or after you first saw this?.

The connection seemed to be fine when it happened. Although we were playing Left 4 Dead 2 right before Minecraft. Our connection was usually green, but once in a while, it would go orange.
Only golden armor made us grow in size. If we put on a iron helmet, it would show our characters wearing the helmet but also an iron vest and boots. Same happened for diamond armor.
I killed him when he was in the middle of creating the armor. He was making the legs when he died. After we saw how oddly the armor reacted, we built diamond and golden armor. Gold was the only armor set that reacted differently. On a side note, if you planted a tree sapling and used bone meal on it, it would grow only one block at a time, instead of instantly. The lower half of every character also would glow when they were hit.
The tools had health meters before. I remember my diamond pickaxe having a very low health while destroying the world was. My flint and steel's health was going down too. We thought we had unlimited tools until my friend decided to test it out and dig up 30 blocks of dirt with the golden shovel. I did the same with the hoe. The tools and armor still have health, you just don't see it go down.
Chances are that some slight lag in combination with being killed while crafting caused this.

You two are the only ones who have posted anything about it.
