Do you prefer branching or searching through actual caves?

Both. But first, I branch mine. Whenever I find a cave I just go through it and then continue branch mining.

Same here. I branch and if i find a cave i go in it and branch through that cave.

Mostly caves, rarely do I branch/create shafts.

I usually branch, it helps me blow off some steam, and I am afraid of most caves...

I used to branch mine, but now I take advantage of caves.

Off-topic: Although, I really don't like those common big caves where it connects to almost everywhere >_>

I actually like those big caves the best. There's lot's to explore and many things to find.

Yeah, i was playing with my friend earlier today and we found this huge cave and it split into two sections and everytime we would go to one split it would split again and we would miss so many sections. We found 14 diamonds, 2 stacks of iron, around 20 gold, and LOTS of coal in only a short period of time

Yea i do both just for the heck of it that way i can just relax and slowly build my creations

LOL I thought this was a question about how to mine, I wanted to respond with R Trigger. Strip Mining, making a large open space.

You press the right trigger....... Kidding, I search through a MASSIVE natural mine system.

I thought this was going to be some idiot asking us "How can I mine?".

Thankfully, it wasn't.

I prefer Branch Mining, because I know I won't get lost. I have found a cave in my world that goes on for about 20 minutes (only half explored).

As of right now I mainly cave mine or branch mine, but I am looking to make a huge crater, and I mean huge, then I am going to build a huge structure at the bottom of it.

For me it depends on what I'm looking for. Coal and iron I use caves but more rare materials I will branch mine. I also like to branch mine when I find a good cave I like.

how do i mine? with a pickaxe..
