So I built a skyscraper today that goes above cloud line. And I have a bedroom right were clouds always pass through and everything gets foggy. Is there anyway to change this so there is no cloud moving through my building? Thanks.
When they release 1.7.3 in July though, the cloud layer is shifted up past the build height so clouds will no longer float through everyones buildings.
I had to stop and wait for clouds to pass during a my most recent build, as there was some delicate work that was just too hard to see from where I play when there are clouds in the way... It was funny but annoying at the same time.. I kinda like the clouds being the height they are now... It gives a more impressive scale of height, but perhaps they shouldnt go through structures.

get optifine. its basically an alternative to MCpatcher for using hd texture packs, but it lets you control cloud hight, and choose if clouds even appear at all, change fog settings, etc. its a very good mod.
you can set the clouds to appear at the highest possible block level using this (as in, clouds appear at 256 blocks above ground rather than the standard 128)
I was with a group of players tonight and we found a seed with the tallest mountain, then we went to the top of it and dug a 20x20 shaft all the way down to bedrock with a stairs spiralling all the way down the outside. It was a major excavation.
The clouds would pass straight thru the mountain about 25 blocks below the top of the shaft. So if you were going to the bottom and a cloud was there, it looked just like a foggy floor. Just don't take a step, it's a long way down!!
