This is one of the reasons why I wanted Xbox 360 Edition; I could build a large structure, and people would understand that I spent the extra effort of not using a mod/cheat to do everything for me. The Duplication glitch got my hopes down, but now it is luckily gone. However, you encourage the community's expectations to be as high as the sky, up until the point where more hard-working builds and ones of less effort cannot be differentiated?
I thought this topic as about being able to switch between peaceful and normal on the fly (without saving, quitting, restarting, etc.) I understand that's coming and I can go for that.
But switch between creative and survival?
No.
That cheapens survival. You might as well combine them and give survival unlimited items and flying.
I agree with the post before me it just ruins it. theres no point. But it could be nice for making like pvp maps or like hunger games maps but those are the only pros otherwise it could ruin survival
I think there should be this. On the start new world gui at the menu there should be a bar like on Pc that can switch your game to Survival, Creative, Hardcore, and a Creative survival so you can choose without the game being ruined. Or maybe only the host can switch or something? Idk. Just ideas.
I think it would be beneficial to some to allow this feature, but it would ruin the fun for some of the more hardcore miners... Maybe if you were allowed to initially design a world in Creative, but then a switch to Survival was irreversible...
on the xbox editon of the game the world is so limited that i think that creative would really help starting players transition into survival mode (plus it would be really fun to make a stone castle without haveing to smelt all your cobblestone).
Why would being able to change modes ruin survival?
Everybody plays this game differently and wanrs different things from it, some like to just build and others hide from beasties at night.
But if I choose to flick between game modes how does that ruin the experience of someone who chooses not to?
It's like the whole duping debate, if you don't like it dont do it but if someone else does how does that effect you?
I can see that in both cases it could be seen as maximum output for minimum input but as this game is confined to an individuals console and doesn't affect anyone else what's the harm?
If only I could live in such a perfect world as you. There is no crime. No murder. It is bliss.
You can't tell the difference between working hard and a simple floating man.
Still thinking that this is a world of peace?
Open your eyes and look again.
The torture of confusion ruining your inventions
up until the point where you just want all of it to cease.
Mountains falling down with the push of a button
and all resources as common as cheese.
Now think about what you said while eating your mutton.
The horrible idea spreading like a family of fleas.
I am serving your sliced revenge. You'll be cuttin'.
You'll be on your knees and yelling,"PLEASE!"
Now take the pill back to your safe imagination place.
Your mind fighting between what is real and what is not
chasing the finish line in the final race.
You will say,"But I am right, and you are wrong!"
However, that is not the case.
TL;DR: This would confuse the community with false belief that you made everything in Creative for things you don't want them to think that for(expressed in some form of poetry).
What a massive pile of dog S**T!!!!!!!
Don't forget this is only a game!!!!
You're on the wrong forum, try "Poetry Rules" on Facebook they would like you there.
Why do you only focus on the details of my post and not the factual information? Is it so hard to make an abstract? If you were paying any attention into what I wrote, that was completely relative to the situation, and therefore must be for this forum.
Could it be that you can't even read?? What a massive pile of dog S**T!!!!!!!

I vote yes for this, but I do understand why people would not like it. Some may see it as cheating when you switch game modes. Some may even see it as cheating when you change difficulties. The way I see it, it is your game so you are free to do what you like. I believe the leaderboards should have never been put in the game and are useless, at least to me. Lets say they add the recent PC's "Adventure Mode". What makes this mode fun is the inability to break and place stuff. I doubt it would be as fun if you are limited to just a new world. Now what if you were building in survival mode and were just tired of dying left and right from falling or mobs. You can change to peaceful, but without changing to creative you may still find yourself falling and dying. Not everyone play the game to see how long they will survive in a monster filled world. Not everyone who plays the game care about gathering materials to build. Many people actually play to create a new world.
Anyways in my opinion, the more freedom you give the players the better the game will be. If people are worried about the leaderboards, have it be that once a world is put in creative mode, the world will no longer count towards the leaderboards.(just like private games in most FPS)
If you are afraid that someone may use creative mode to make a tall building and then tell people that they built it in survival, well it is the internet and you should already know that you can only believe 5% of what you hear.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"If it already has been done then it can be done again" or
"If its a mod its possible to be a feature"
The only reason I would like this option would be to build a fortress/kingdom/city while in Creative and then permanently switch to Survival so I can live in amazing structures and not spend forever building them. I already have a design for an 8 bedroom, 3 floor stronghold with storage, kitchens, workshops, wheat farm and a mineshaft.

Because the people who worked hard to build something great in survival, people may NOW think they used Creative to easily build it.

While I see your point, why do you care what someone else thinks? If you know you did it on survival then there you go. No matter if you say you did it on survival or not there will always be that one that says "no you must have duped it", or "no you used creative".
At the end of the day its a game, we are not changing the world, we are placing fake block in a fake world.
I say that the ability to switch back and forth would atleast cut back on the "lack of world resources" complaints, and thus I believe it is a good idea.
Ok, now try to guess what I voted for.
