1.) Standing in front of my lava furnace and accidentally throwing my diamond pickaxe in because I hit B (which isnt as farfetched as it sounds. You have to select a group of blocks and exit the menu (pressing to drop them in groups, and if you hit it too fast...). You get just enough time to go "NO!!!" LOL
2.) Tunneling up into a lava lake. Oops.
3.) Hitting the damn "POV change" joystick when you are being attacked.
4.) Getting uppercutted by a tree branch because you used bone meal too close to a sapling.
5.) Finishing my lava moat, taking a moment to admire it.... to hear... "PFT! SSsssssss!" and literally being blown off my feet, against my castle wall and right down into the lava pit (goodbye, gear)
6.) Discovering a previously excavated mine.... via gravity.... after mining under my feet....
Got pushed over the ledge into my bedrock deep quarry by a sheep once. Fell well over 100 meters.
Discovered nettherack and decided to make a nice fireplace in my castle only to burn all the wood plank flooring off my second story.
Expanded my approximately 25x15 island to over 100x100 but only made it 1 block deep. One *hiss....boom* later I drowned trying to find my way back up to the hole it blew in my island. The ocean was very deep and dark there.
Haha, fireplace happened to me as well, but I managed to save my house in time before it did major damage.
Made a city hall with plans to put a makeshit clock in the middle, only realising the base was an even number and couldn't center it after finishing and refurnishing the interior.
My pimp cane is awesome. I know its a bug but if you use a hoe for anything except tilling soil it doesn't take damage. I swear shearing sheep with it almost always gets me 3-4 wool. Same for killing cows and pigs for their items. I get above the average amount of drops by using it.
Frickin creepers. I was playing online with a friend in his world yesterday. I had just completed complicated cobblestone stairways. After I was done, it got dark. I exit the stairway/hallway I was in, go left, and get greeted by a creeper RIGHT there in front of me. I also had turtle beaches on, so I jumped and kinda froze, then heard the SSSSSSSS and was like WAIT, NO! and started to run away. It was too late, and my stairs were severely damaged.
I also got pushed by a chicken while I was building something, and fell and screwed up part of whatever I was building.

Try placing pressure plates on the inside of your doors, this way if you go inside, the door closes automaticly, mobs cant get in, you dont ever have to close the door, and you dont have to open it when you leave your building .
In minecraft it's the little things that make a change
Are you sure the mobs wont come in?
Chickens and pigs trigger my pressure plates and enter my buildings all the time... I dont know if monster mobs will because I play on peaceful.

I also have a bad habit of leaving the door open, and it always seems to be a creeper that comes in. :<

As infuriating as it was at the time, I wish I had a vid of this happening. I mean it was classic Wile E. Coyote Material!
Oh man, I've done this. I go back towards the door just to see him sidestep right into the doorway.
And the expression on the creeper's face matches my own in RL right before we both go kablooey.
