This weekend I was pondering what makes this game so bloody addicting. I think I have more or less why.

Because this game's interface is so simple, you can pick it up in a moment. But what you can actually DO in this game is pretty damn near limitless.

Someone once told me early on, "If you can dream it up, you can build it." The more I play Minecraft the more I see how true that is.

I remember building my first castle in this game and spending a bunch of time on it and thinking I had a pretty damn cool pad.

Then I saw what other people had done in Minecraft.

Suddenly I felt like I was at a yacht expo with a child's rubber raft.

I think the vast majority of us are in the same boat as you. The best I've decided I can do, is just be proud of what I whip up and try to show it off to my friends who aren't super involved in the minecraft community. Because really, the whole point is to impress your friends and have some fun along the way, right?

Yea i completely agree with you thats what i think :f

The game is addicting because it's almost a true sandbox. You can almost do anything you want as long as within the limits of the game.

Skyrim... lol I made the mistake of starting that game since I found a good deal on a used copy, it managed to pull me away for now, until pistons get put in the game... then I have a feeling I'll come crawling sprinting back.

haha, well that's when I started playing the PC version, so it will be fun to see Minecraft pre 1.8

You might be unimpressed with your own castle after seeing others castle's, but if that's your building style and that's how you like it then your castle is the best for you.

Sometimes I look at those mega creations and then I look back my shack, but in the end if my shack makes me happy then I'm content with it.

you might think that your castle wqas to small or not cool but it is the way you put it
