I didn't see any other posts about this, so here i go.
Isn't it true that your supposed to place doors from the outside? Because they look better?
I mean, if u go to someones house the front door isn't sunk into the building (the way it is if u place it from the inside in MC), It's right level with the wall (the way it is if you place it from the outside).
So which way is it supposed to go? I know someone who hates placing them from outside, and calls people noobs if they do. It looks SOOO much better by placing it from outside.
It really bugs me he puts it from the inside, so i wanted to get the public opinion.
But why would anyone want a door sunk into their wall? It's just so ugly. I think that they place it from the inside because they are too scared to walk outside in the dark and place it, open it, and walk back in.
Technically, from the way my house was built and the addition of a screened-in porch, my door is approximately 1 meter "sunk in".
Besides, if you're "angry" at your friend for getting on you and others about their door placement, what makes you any better for doing the same exact thing?

Because...
Okay let me spell it out.
My best friend (who doesn't care about the doors) had one of his relatives come and this guy hates placing doors from outside. He just hates it. My best friend still doesn't care about which way we place it. I'm strongly with placing it from outside, and he's strongly with placing it from outside.
It bugs me if anyone does from inside and i'm sure he feels the same. I wanted a public opinion.
I guess I'll be the first one to say it then: I like my doors placed while I'm INSIDE the structure I'm building.
My reason is that the door would open and close in the same direction as a door IRL would.
Place it on the outside so it swings in wards thats how door work IRL so thats what i do.
Actually, I think it's the other way around. Doors would open outwards when exiting a building. I mean isn't how doors are supposed to open when exiting? (According to fire safety regulations that is).
Only for fire doors. No building codes on how to hinge doors and what way they swing.
Whoops, I guess I was wrong. My bad, I just assumed all doors would open that way being safer and all. Thanks for clearing that bit up. But still I like my doors opening outwards
I think were getting off topic, I don't want them placing doors because of fire hazards XD
I came to get the public opinion. Which, so far, is leaning toward me.
Don't be a retard. He says "What is your opinion?" Not "CRITICIZE PLZ LOLOLOL!"
I know what he said, and I gave my opinion. If you had read the thread, which I'm sure you did, then you would see that I did.
Personally, I think he made this thread to get validation that his opinion is the right way to do things... His friend's relative thinks the same way of HIS method and insults/makes fun of anyone who does it the other way.
Since he made this post here, especially the bold part, I can see that was what he was doing to begin with. Which, honestly, is hypocritical. However, thanks for calling me a "retard", I hope it made you feel better.

It might have sounded like i was trying to prove my way was right.
I actually was trying to show this guy that his way is not the right way, neither is mine. I just didn't want him being mean because he though his was the ONLY way, which it isn't.

Either way, a closed door placed from the inside works the same as a closed door placed from the outside.
