Just wondering if anybody else has noticed this (I quickly ran through the bug thread and couldn't find mention of it).
Sometimes when I visit friends worlds on Xbox, their light sources (normal torches, redstone torches and glowstone) don't emit a normal amount of light, they emit really low levels of light..
For example, sometimes I got mining with them, they place a torch when we are underground and I can see the torch on the wall but it hardly makes any light at all, its still nearly complete darkness for me...
It happens approx 1 out of 4 times I join friends.
Leaving the server and coming back sometimes fixes it, sometimes doesnt.
Anybody else have this problem?

Sometimes when I'm on a friend's world and mining in a 2 block tall, 1 block wide tunnel and I put a torch up it doesn't even light up. Is that what you mean?
What is your gamma set at? If it's at 50%, turn it up. >_>
I dont think its that because on my own world they work fine, and most of the time they work fine on my friends worlds as well, its just about a quarter the time

Ah, I thought it might have been your gamma. I turned mine up to 80%, it works great for day/night and mining. Well, hopefully 4J will fix this in the next update/bug fix.

I'm fairly sure I can answer this
If you read patchnotes for upcoming changes, you'll notice that the lighting being used in this version of minecraft is the "nerfed" (or worse) version of lighting. At some patch on the PC version lights were changed from radius 3 blocks to like... radius 9 (don't quote me on those numbers). I believe this game is still running the lower light radius version of MC.

This sounds right. Mobs will spawn in the 360 version between torches 10 blocks apart, so I think torches, etc are much weaker. The next update for 360 is to bring the game up to Beta 1.7.3, but I don't know where along the line they changed the lighting.
